Must admit, Thought it was harsh to drop Hamer but Schwarzer has certainly caused Nigel a dilema.....

But what about when Kasper returns?

Cant be many clubs who  can say all three keepers are in with a shout of the no.1 jersey....

Each have plusses.

schmichael - Is probably the best shot stopper we have. And possibly the best we have had for a very long time.

hamer - Is so reliable under a high ball. He knows when to come and collect or punch it clear and he hasn't gotten it wrong once.

Schwazer - Experience. It's vital. And, he clearly knows what he's doing. He's been a top flight keeper for most of his career.

Strengths and weakness' for all...Hamers kicking is awful whereas Schwazers is solid but not spectacular based on Saturday. And kasper can be spectacular from kicks at times but also pretty woeful.

But, how can you drop Ben when he has kept goal during our best spell defensively. If his kicking becomes a real problem then maybe we drop him. We have three good keepers and that is great. It's been years since we have had this much talent in the keeper ranks.

Cases for all 3. Kasper has the ability to save games with key saves. Best shot-stopper we have. Too much is made of his lack of authority in his own box and not wanting to come out.

Hamer is more commanding than Kasper, that's clear for all to see. Distribution seriously lets him down though. This is where Kasper is better than him. Both can distribute quickly; unfortunately Hamer tends to send it out of play and concede possession too often.

Schwarzer - one thing we've all craved for in this league is Premier League experience and he has it in abundance. Has more experience than Hamer/Kasper combined and I also don't think age affects goal-keepers as much as outfield players.

Tough to call but if all fit, I'd probably just about opt for Hamer. We seem to be a bit more comfortable in defence and if I remember correctly seeing a stat after the Spurs game that we have only conceded once in open play in last 6 matches.

Certainly a tough call for NP given Schwarzer's performance on Saturday- he clearly still has it at the top level if that was anything to go by. Actually can't remember us having a stronger selection of goalies. Can only remember thinking Ian Walker and Danny Coyne were a brilliant pair (think Coyne played about 10 games for us so no idea where that idea came from).

Between us playing Doncaster at home on the very last day of last season and in light of us heading to Old Trafford on Saturday, the goalkeeper has become one of, if not the most, difficult names to place on the team sheet.

I can't vote to say who would be my number as I'd be unsure of my own answer. I would say it would be harsh on Hamer for him to be dropped as he's 'deputied' really well to Kasper, whom I don't think deserves to return as the undisputed number 1. Mark Schwarzer's quality and PL experience in that position just makes the dilemma harder. A pleasant headache for NP I'd imagine.

Am I the only one who thinks Kasper's distribution is also pretty average?

Yes he can ping it great length up the pitch but it usually rushed and hurried and before our attackers are ready to challenge for the ball. As for conceding possession, I'd say both Hamer and Kasper are both equally poor at kicking it out of play and both are prone to a very 'casual' clearance that has nearly landed us in hot water this season. An example for each off the top of my head would be Hamer vs Stoke (h) and Kasper vs Swansea (a) where Wes Morgan bailed him out with a fantastic challenge on Bony. As goalkeepers there is not much between them overall but I'd argue that distribution is the worst asset/skill for the pair of them.
