Leeds Fox Posted 6 February 2015 Share Posted 6 February 2015 Right guys, I'm sure you've probably only entered this thread if the House part caught your eye. If you use Soundcloud, it can be great at times, finding new DJs and Producers, and uncovering gems of tracks, and then you can go for weeks and find nothing new. So I was going to see if anyone else on here likes House music, and if so, would share their Soundcloud likes with me. My username is fozzy1234 so give it a follow (I've got about 6 followers, this isn't a 'follow me' plug) and see if any of my 'likes' take your fancy, and I'll check yours out. Maybe you'll find something new, I'm from Leeds, which along with Sheffield, has been quite unique with its music style. If you do like House music and don't use Soundcloud, feel free to post your favourite Producers and DJs. My faves are: MK (House legend, was once Will Smiths producer, no more needs to be said) Anime Egde & Dance (deep and often unheard tracks on their mixes) Sonny Fodera (Defected Records, unique remixes) HotSince82 (fellow Leeds lad, absolute hero) The whole Defected Label. Single handedly reinvented the while House scene over the past few years.
Aleksz Posted 6 February 2015 Share Posted 6 February 2015 Oliver Heldens and Tchami personal favourites. Gorgon City too, can get a bit too mainstream though.

Fox42 Posted 11 February 2015 Share Posted 11 February 2015 Chicane. No words. I recommend following him on SoundCloud and tuning in every week to his Sun: Sets podcasts. Sublime stuff goes on there
maynefox Posted 13 February 2015 Share Posted 13 February 2015 Agreed. Over the last 2/3 years Defected have gone hard. Their own tents at festivals are pretty live. I can't stand MK now (too mainstream), his sets attract those who just go "wow MK. Look Right Through. Banging.", they're pretty average and his work has the same repetitive beat in the songs. I like a lot of DJs/producers. I go through phases of different DJs/Producers I personally like, now it's probably: Tale Of UsMaya Jane ColesRodriguez JrDeetron I think the best set I've seen is probably Seth Troxler b2b Jamie Jones; or a Sam Divine set at Sundown she cracked out the classics! Redlight did a great set when I saw him a few months back, very surprised tbh!
Haydos Posted 13 February 2015 Share Posted 13 February 2015 Disappointed I missed Green Velvet in Sheffield the other night, already had tickets for another gig the same night. Seeing Ben UFO/Pearson Sound/Pangea + DVS1 next week though, should be class.
Samilktray Posted 13 February 2015 Share Posted 13 February 2015 Lone - Reality Testing, is the only House album I've enjoyed in a while and it is tremendous. Its not the same house sound you hear on the radio

They're 'We Are Festival' was absolutely amazing for a fairly small-medium sized festival. And to be fair to MK and his music, the majority of his songs that are played a lot are over 20 years old, and the scene (especially the labels like defected) have taken their sound from his original deep house tracks, making his sound mainstream. Mikey Posted 16 February 2015 Share Posted 16 February 2015 Shiba San, Waze & Odyssey, Julio Bashmore, Maceo Plex, ShadowChild, Seth Troxler, Patrick Topping - a few decent ones there.
