HesNotGudjonsonn Posted 4 March 2015 Share Posted 4 March 2015 ...please find out how many times we have had definite penalties turned down this season. I mean obvious one where the MOTD pundits (not Lineker) have agreed. Just curious.
Swiss_tony Posted 5 March 2015 Share Posted 5 March 2015 well a definite penalty is one given by the referee so the logical answer is zero. all other penalties are subjective.
Guest MattP Posted 5 March 2015 Share Posted 5 March 2015 well a definite penalty is one given by the referee so the logical answer is zero. all other penalties are subjective. So you now agree that Vardy's v Man U was a penalty inspite of you putting it up as a point against ones that weren't in the other thread?
RedSoxUK Posted 5 March 2015 Share Posted 5 March 2015 well a definite penalty is one given by the referee so the logical answer is zero. all other penalties are subjective. Definite penalty is a foul within the box. if the ref doesn't see it or makes the wrong decision, doesn't make that a definite penalty or not - a fouls a foul, a 50/50 is arguable and refs can be forgiven for those mistakes. 100% agree with a rule change for a quick instant replay relayed to the ref and a delayed decision - it's just too destructive to the game's outcome, i'd rather have a legit refereed called game, than one which is ultimately a bullshit lie (Morgan's 'faceball' vs Liverpool) etc.

st albans fox Posted 5 March 2015 Share Posted 5 March 2015 I wouldn't be surprised if vardys first utd pen and his appeal at palace were used by Riley at a seminar to illustrate what isn't a pen. would perhaps explain why we just can't get one given (especially if the prem refs also see how many we were given last season and make a dodgy assumption re poor refereeing at that level)
David Hankey Posted 5 March 2015 Share Posted 5 March 2015 What is the point of this thread. It makes no difference at all. We are where we are not through not being awarded penalties but because we are simply not good enough. Yes, I know we should have had a penalty last night and against Liverpool and other teams this season but at the end of the day it's no good relying on referees, linesmen or other teams losing to help us. Look how many we were awarded last season and some clearly weren't.

Guest ttfn Posted 5 March 2015 Share Posted 5 March 2015 #clutchingatstraws #sameforeveryone Would love to see examples of when our rivals have been diddled out of penalties as obvious as the two yesterday. And if there's been a worse refereeing decision than the Morgan "handball" at Anfield this season I haven't seen it (although interestingly on the exact same day as the Morgan handball QPR should obviously have had 2 players sent off). These things don't even themselves out over the course of the season. If they do then we're in for a an absolutely outrageous run of poor decisions in our favour between now and the end of the season.

SecretPro Posted 5 March 2015 Share Posted 5 March 2015 Lets face it, Ref's have shafted everyone this season. They have been sh*te accross the board. As Leicester City fans it's easy to say 'look how unlucky we have been, look at all those bad decisions' but being as we don't watch all 90 minutes of the other games and being that MOTD has been full to the brim of dodgy decisions by ref's this season I think it's a bit comical to say that we have been hard done by and it's to blame for dropped points. Plenty of other teams have probably dropped points for exactly the same reasons. But fandom blinds us of this.
Fox92 Posted 5 March 2015 Share Posted 5 March 2015 Are we referring to the Kramaric one? It was at the other end of the ground and I couldn't see it. Just see him go over but I said at the time he wouldn't have gone down in that position unless he was fouled.

There was one on Schlupp first half where Bony shoved him over and the Kramaric one second half which was given as a free-kick outside the box. It's that simple.... Christ, part of the middle section of Gerrard's career was built on that fact What is the point of this thread. It makes no difference at all. Look how many we were awarded last season and some clearly weren't. But those instances would lead to a defeat being a draw and a draw being a win seeing us around 16th-18th, not 20th. I do think over the season it all balances out, however when your luck is in, your luck is in & when it's out, it's out. It's tough at the top, but it's even tougher at the bottom, where you don't get the rub of the green, or the benefit of the doubt quite so much

adamlcfcbevo85 Posted 5 March 2015 Share Posted 5 March 2015 I think it's a great idea , if someone could get little videos of incidents where we have had penaltys given against and where we have had no penaltys for when we should , put it all together and email the **** to the FA
indierich06 Posted 5 March 2015 Share Posted 5 March 2015 The ref said it was, my subjective view is that it wasn't. So anytime the ref awards a penalty, it's definitely a penalty, and anytime he doesn't, it's definitely not? Bizarre.
