From what I've been told...

Recommended Posts

...You'd be very wise to take 16/1 on Mark Warburton being our next manager.

A very reliable source said this will happen, the reason Pearson hasn't gone just yet is financial.

Once we are mathematically relegated, the compensation pay off to him is greatly reduced, similar to Moyes not qualifying for Champions League.

As soon as we are down, Pearson goes and Warburton comes in, giving him a few games before the season ends.

The board are resigned to relegation and the whole Warburton situation at Brentford came about because we were sniffing around.

The owners want a manager who knows the Championship and can bring a fresh approach to the team.

Just passing on what I've been told.

Haha we will swap a manager who has got us promoted before, and secured at least play offs/promotions in all but one of his seasons in charge, for a manager who is completely unproven and is currently head of Brentford Town.

lol Get your coat son, the taxi is outside.

Why on earth would we get a rid of a manager who last won the Championship with our highest ever points total when we are returning to the Championship.

It makes no sense to sack him if so, if it was going to happen it should have been a few months ago.

I'd be more inclined to sack if we survive than if we go down.

If we survive, sack him off, find someone better and give them a shit load of dollar. If we go down, let him get us promoted again and then **** him off if he can't convince the board that he's learned.

Harsh? Yes. Football? Yes.

Whilst i'm fuming with Pearson's selections, tactics, handling of transfers or lack of improving the team this season why would we get rid of him when relegation is almost a certainty?

He is the best man for us in the Championship next season, although what I will say is if he doesn't hit the ground running next season his time is up.

Now I mention his selections - I have mentioned many times in the last few months about his favourites, will I be happy they are playing? Yes, in the championship they are decent players, but in the Premiership they are dogshite and i'm frustrated in his continuation of playing them whilst other players have come in and impressed but dropped almost straight away, whilst some others havn't even been given a chance whilst his favourites continue playing no matter how many or how big their mistakes are.

If we were to get rid it'd have been done before now - and perhaps it should have been, but it's gone too far now he'll be here next season.

I hope you're wrong.

What sense would it make to get rid of our most successful manager in recent history who has proven time and time that he can get us out of the Championship?

He's also proven he can get us back into the championship.

Like it or not Pearson's sacking/resignation is more likely than not.

Grass is always greener isn't it?

Warburton is chums with Rudkin. As soon as he came to agreement with Brentford, it spoke our next manager.

What I would say is the guy has an eye for a player.

It was in the news that he's leaving Brentford because he doesn't believe in signing players using stats and the chairman does. It would be a total change in direction if he became our manager.

If true, it's piss poor from the owners, surely sacking Pearson before the window, and getting a manager who knows the league in, and make a fist of staying up, would be more cost effective, than sacking a manager, after we are down.

Surely staying in the premier league is worth more to the club, than losing a couple of million in compensation to Pearson.

Without wishing to be too pedantic he's proved it one time out of 3 and a half.

It makes a  sense, but I don't believe it will happen this season.

Although we walked the Championship last season, Pearson just didn't have the players to adapt to the Premiership, and we need a manager who knows how to do that, and Pearson does not fit that criteria.

A close season is always the best time to bring in a new manager, when some decent candidates will probably be available.

Pearson's days are surely numbered, it is just a question of when he goes, and not if.

He employs a managing director who has a team full of scouts. What he doesn't like is 100% stats based signing of players. If you read what Brentford's owner has done in Denmark, that's the way they are heading.

Didnt you see Pearson last night, hes a broken man, do you really think he has it in him for the pressure next season to get us back up?

Based on his response to the awful run and crushing Deeney moment two seasons ago, yes, I think he has it in him.
