    Unprecedented

Perhaps the word of the day after Donald Trump's tweet earlier... I don't think many people (especially the media and neutrals) have acknowledged just how unprecedented (or unpresidented) this season is. It's not just last season that was the one-off. Think what we've had to cope with: the emotional hangover of last season the tag of champions the increased interest in our players both in terms of transfers and media exposure the extra pressure of the Champions League the "how will it ever be as good?" factor the changes needed to the playing squad and management the general up-sizing of the club as a whole - to "be" a Champions League club off the pitch is an entirely different operation the loss of two integral individuals on and off the pitch It's easy after the event but all these things will have been hard to prepare for given the lack of precedents. Other teams have won the league from being rank outsiders but not in the modern day when football is 24/7, the pressure is immense and the money is obscene. No club has ever had to do this before - not quite like this. That's not to excuse some of the bad decisions but it's no wonder things haven't gone swimmingly. I think everyone connected with the club has struggled with one or more of the above at some point or other. However, I'm more interested in the effect it's had on us as fans than on the players and staff. I've heard all kinds of opinions about this season - certainly a lot of people have found it hard to care as much or to be as motivated to support the team when we've just had the season of our lives and it seems like the games at the moment are every other day. Given the extreme highs and lows we've had over the past few years, it's tempting to think everything is either amazing or terrible and as a fanbase, it seems like we're swinging from one to the other almost daily. Even in the past ten days we've had the highs of the Manchester City game, the CL draw and today's comeback; the lows of the Porto defeat, the Bournemouth defeat and the end of the first half today. We were desperate for Man City to be "the turning point" and hopefully the equaliser today will do it instead but even if the next two games don't go to plan, I think it's worth remembering no club has ever been through the challenge of a season like this before and it seems unlikely they will in our lifetimes. With the referee losing the plot, last season's top scorer sent off, our best outfield player so far this season unavailable, to show the real Leicester spirit was something very special. In fact, given the undoubted pressure at the moment, I'd go so far as to say two of the last three games (Man City and today) have seen performances even more remarkable than anything last season, backed 100% by a fanbase that's been through the mill in the past few months. So we might not be top of the league this Christmas but we've managed to go into it on a high against all the odds and that's proper Leicester.

Most Underrated Player To Play For Leicester

Nugent never got the credit he deserved imo. Got him for nothing if I remember correctly and went on to score quite a lot of important goals for us, especially in the promotion season. Got a reputation for only scoring penalties from people on here. And we still got a good fee for him when he went Boro You also got the impression he was a great man to have around the club, always joking around. Loved his persona on the pitch

Thanks. i really hope he will continue to grow as a player. The progress he made at Genk is remarkable an there is still room for improvement I believe Leicester is not his end station. Enjoy him as long he wears your jersey. One thing you can count on is that he will give 110% for Leicester as long as he wears your jersey. he did the same thing for us, even when it was clear he had signed or was gonna sign at Leicester he kept giving it his all for Genk. a remarkable player and a remarkable person you will not find a Genk fan who has a bad word to say about him I look forward watching him play for Leicester and see how he does in one of the biggest leagues. We at Genk are proud to have seen him playing for our team and we believe it is the next Genkie to follow in the steps of Debruyne, Courtois, Benteke, Origi, Carrasco. GO NDIDI, GO FOXES

Plaudits for our Atmosphere, let's keep it up

It's all pretty clear to me. Folks can moan about players being overpaid, not arsed etc till the cows come home, but they're still going to respond when supporters give it their all. Think about it. We're all stoney silenced, moaning at misplaced passes and booing substitutions or when we're one down at half time or whatever. They're gonna think 'so fvcking what, I'm still away to my mansion in my sports car to plough my supermodel missus after the game.' But if we're giving it our all every game, regardless of how they're doing, they're gonna think 'fvck me, better up my game here - these are fans worth playing for'. Be supporters worth fighting for and they'll respond in kind. So many took delight in claiming credit for getting us over the line and sucking goals into the net last season and during the Great Escape - time to truly earn that reputation.

    Did you get owt good?.

Got the usual sort of presents from my family in which I'm extremely grateful for. However, my best present came from my youngest brother who a few weeks back won a fairly good sum of money from a radio competition, nothing life changing but a nice sum for an 18 year old. Long story short, without anyone knowing until he told us this morning, he's deposited a fair chunk of that money in to mine and my other brothers bank account. Money has been one of my biggest worries over the past year and now to have just that bit of breathing space, I could have cried.

    Riyad Mahrez

Last week it was Slimani and albrightons turn for the brain dead morons to criticise this week it's Marhez's. Why can't people just shut up whining and moaning appreciate that we are going through the greatest era in our history and get behind all the players and the manager every week. It really is very boring. I don't even come on foxestalk after a defeat because I can't stomach most of the reactionary and negative nobs who could write down everything they know about football on the back of a postage stamp. I know he is somewhat out of form but it's an honour to have a player like mahrez at my football club.

    Boro Post match 0-0

Too many people overreacting to that result; calling it shit, toothless, poor, etc. We needed to stop losing away from home and we did that today. We defended well against these and nothing that came into our box looked troubling. Not great attacking (at all) but a point away is a good point regardless. People calling Boro shit need to remember how terrible we've been as well - we're hardly carrying a torch for 'Champions of England' at the minute. I'll take that point all day long thanks.

    Pearson philosophy vs Ranieri philosophy

Perhaps exactly why we're struggling again then as I see nothing different in what we're trying now. Difference is back then, we actually put in good performances and were let down by lots of individual errors and a few poor players. You could look at games and see we weren't far off being ok... now we look awful. How many times have we looked like a good team this season, 3 or 4? That Pearson team looked a far better long term prospect than we currently do. We've not even had any hard luck stories where you walk away saying we should have got or deserved more. We're getting everything we deserve, we've been absolutely woeful. We're only 4 points better off than we were in our first season after 21 games. We've conceded 1 more and scored 4 less. Despite the first team containing the likes of De Laet, Nugent, Konch, Moore, Hammond, GTF, Wood etc and the new one containing god knows how many millions of extra players. It's frightening.

  32. I've worked extensively with Homeless individuals over the course of my career. It's sad for me reading attitudes like the ones above. Prior to becoming homeless many people describe their lives as you and I would do now. Something happens: An affair, a change in mental health, berievement, a business deal going sour, betrayal a mad night out resulting in a criminal conviction etc... and before they knew it they had used up the good will of friends or were to embarrassed at their situation and went off grid...... People should be slower to judge because you never know what next year may bring you.

    Coffee Wxxkers

Ooh I need a coffee. Ooh I need a caffeine fix. Ooh have you tried the caramel latte in Starbucks. What is it with everyone becoming a coffee wxxker? Especially men. Men who go all gooey over a coffee and turn into girls and talk how lovely these coffee shops are and how much they look forward to go and errr, buy a cup of coffee. These big companies have created great marketing campaigns to get people to buy something really cheap for a lot of money and think they are doing something really special. You have been totally sucked in, your buying a cup of coffee ffs. Coffee wxxkers the lot of you.

What do you even say to someone that thinks that's okay? Fvck me, these threads are so depressing. The success of those in power at convincing the average worker that it's deplorable to organise, to collectively bargain, to push for better pay and working conditions over the last hundred odd years is soul destroying. If that's your working life, mate, why on earth would it ever be a bad thing for your co workers to band together and say "hold up, this is a bit shit boys"?

  50. And THIS is why there is no respect for referees. This all fuels the us v them culture when it comes to refs. Ranieri will get fined for totally justified actions whilst Pawson, despite two disgracefully inept, borderline suspicious performances will go unpunished.
