2016/17 League 1 and League 2

Makes you laugh when people accuse our owners of being callous and heartless for trying to do their best for the club by changing manager when you see those littered in the lower leagues.

Sad to see Leyton Orient face winding up petition.

Horrible. It's a scandal that so many clubs have been run into the ground by absolute shitbags in recent years.

Not many would've imagined Burton Albion v Fleetwood Town as a potential Championship fixture up to a few seasons ago.

May well be a reality if the former stay up and the latter continue their great run and get up.

Plus maybe Coventry v Portsmouth (the latter who often have 16,000/17,000 at home games) in League Two..

League One must be very poor or a great chance for teams either trying to achieve promotion again or struggling and clinging by a thread to stop falling further down the league chain.

Russell Slade has been sacked as manager of Coventry City, who are bottom of the League One table.

The 56-year-old only won three of his 16 games in charge of the Sky Blues following his appointment on 21 December.

Coventry are 13 points adrift of safety in the third tier following Saturday's 0-0 draw at Shrewsbury.

The Ricoh Arena side have reached the final of the EFL Trophy and will play Oxford at Wembley on 2 April.

More to follow.

They travel well too. I went to four away fixtures last year including the game against Coventry at the Ricoh in the EFL Cup. Unfortunately it's rather like a throwback to the 1980s and if John Westwood's bugle and bell isn't irritating enough there's a good chance of getting embroiled in shit stirred up by the remnants of the 657 crew.

Had an interview at Fleetwood last week, great set up with their new training facility. They have a bar and grill within the training complex, slightly strange watching players have lunch after training, with fans sitting in the bar next to them having a pint/drink while watching an under 23s game outside.

Just had a look at Cov's fixtures- they've got some absolutely huge games coming up. Their next 6 are:

Oldham (A)

Wimbledon (A)

Gillingham (H)

Swindon (H)

Bury (A)

Shrewsbury (A)

Wimbledon are 15th, and the rest are in the thick of the relegation scrap. You would think they need to win 4 to stand any chance.

5 points out of 18 for the above games. Not looking too good is it.

Mark Robins might have "saved" Alex ferguson but hes got his work cut out now.

Not sure why they've waited until they got through that run of six-pointers before sacking Slade, they've been terrible for ages!

They're in a downward spiral which doesn't show any sign of stopping- owners who have no interest in either selling up or progressing the club, and a fanbase getting more and more detached from it.

I had a look on their forum not long ago, and their attendances next year won't look out of place in League 2. Plenty of them are seeing their Wembley trip as a bit of a 'goodbye', at least until the current owners are gone anyway. Unbelievable that a club can go through that, and makes you realise how lucky we are with our owners.
