Kitchandro Posted 12 March 2017 Share Posted 12 March 2017 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39228304 Quote Craig Shakespeare has been appointed Leicester City manager until the end of the season. The 53-year-old has been in caretaker charge since Claudio Ranieri was sacked on 23 February, nine months after winning the Premier League title. Shakespeare, who has never managed full-time, was Ranieri's assistant after being brought to the club by the Italian's predecessor, Nigel Pearson. Leicester have won both of their games with him in charge. Shakespeare's first match as caretaker manager was a 3-1 league victory over Liverpool, and they beat Hull City by the same scoreline. The Foxes are three points clear of the relegation zone in 15th. Leicester host Sevilla in the second leg of their last-16 Champions League tie on Tuesday. The Spanish side won the first leg 2-1. Raw Dykes Posted 12 March 2017 Share Posted 12 March 2017 Just saw that! Great news! Let's win every game 3-1 please. I think Shakey could turn out to be a very good manager, but I'm just so relieved it's not Hodgson more than anything else.
Dan LCFC Posted 12 March 2017 Share Posted 12 March 2017 Lovely stuff. Go on then, how much we all won? Some absurd odds were being offered. I got £25 on 4/1.

Max Power Posted 12 March 2017 Share Posted 12 March 2017 Gutted I only had £20 on at 3.8. Should have gone bigger, and could have got a better price. Good news though. Now beat Sevilla.
Tielemans63 Posted 12 March 2017 Share Posted 12 March 2017 Bit disappointed. My dream of seeing Roy Hodgson in the Leicester dugout will have to wait.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 12 March 2017 Share Posted 12 March 2017 The nearest thing possible to getting Nigel back in so good decision. He'll get the club right top to bottom when given that 3 year contract in the summer.

brucey Posted 12 March 2017 Share Posted 12 March 2017 Leicester City Football Club is pleased to confirm Craig Shakespeare as its First Team Manager for the rest of the 2016/17 season. - Craig Shakespeare confirmed as Leicester City Manager for rest of 2016/17 season - Respected coach has guided City to two wins from two games in charge - Vice Chairman praises Shakespeare for initiating positive response - City’s next game sees them host Sevilla in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League Craig, who has been part of the City coaching staff for seven of the last eight seasons, was put in interim charge of the First Team two weeks ago following the departure of Claudio Ranieri, guiding the Foxes to Premier League wins over Liverpool and Hull City since. Craig will continue to be supported by First Team Coach and Goalkeeping Coach Mike Stowell and the Club’s existing team of backroom staff during the campaign’s remaining fixtures, starting with Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League Last 16 Second Leg against Sevilla. Vice Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: “Craig’s skills as a coach and the high regard in which he is held by everyone the Club were well known to us. We always knew the team would be in good hands when we asked him to take charge a fortnight ago. “He has initiated the type of positive response that we hoped change would bring, showing great leadership qualities and composure under considerable pressure to produce two very important results. We have asked him to continue to lead the team this season and we are very happy that he has accepted.” Shakespeare, 53, joined City’s coaching staff as assistant to Nigel Pearson in 2008, spending a season with Hull City in 2010/11 before being brought back to the Club by the Srivaddhanaprabha family as part of Pearson’s reappointment in 2011. He remained a vital part of the Club’s backroom staff under Ranieri following the Italian’s arrival in 2015 and was central to the support operation that guided City to the Club’s first Premier League title last season. A UEFA Pro Licence graduate, he has also been part of the FA’s coaching setup for the England senior team this term. ---- No new coaching staff, also nothing about what happens after end of season, presumably will be reviewed in the summer

Guy Posted 12 March 2017 Share Posted 12 March 2017 As others have said, definitely the next best thing to a third N.Pearson return! It is a job to say what will happen in the summer though, no doubt the owners are now just waiting to see what's going to happen between now and then before making any big decisions.
