The Photography Thread

Recommended Posts

Hi all, just updated my website with the parade photos. It's all basically street photography type stuff. None of the actual players. This is all photos of the fans basically having a great day out. Maybe you are in the photos or know someone in them. Just click on the Leicester tab at the top of the home page to take you to the gallery. Hope people like :)

Some great photos. I love the fan photos, they're great to look back on in years to come, to catch the expressions, smiles, fashion of the time, it helps to set everything in context. I still look at the old Wembley photos etc.

Someone took a photo of me, I was hoping to see it on your website but obviously it wasn't you.

Thanks mate appreciate the positive comments :)

Where about's were you at Victoria Park?

Here's one I took of Paul Dickov being interviewed by Sky Sports the day of the parade. Turned around and gave me a cheeky smile. Ha

Towards the back. It was as I walked on to the park near the lost kids tent and toilets.

Just recently came across the subject of the Provoke magazine, a Japanese publication in three editions only, that celebrated the post-war aspect of the country and its the influence of progress and technology on tradition and values.

http://www.photopedagogy.com/provoke.html

Reprints of the three issues that originally appeared in between 1968 and 1969 were sold at $2'000 back in 2010.

One of the photographers who created the style at the time was Daido Moriyama. Read up on him, if you can. In the meantime, here's an intriguing video portrait that sheds some more light on his modus operandi:

Currently on a 6 month trip around Southern Africa; lived in Cape Town for 3 months then spent a month in Gaborone, Botswana with family, and am now currently in Namibia. These are all taken with my Canon 70D

Been contacting celebrities to see if they will let me photograph them. Had a lot of no's but had a yes last week and another yesterday. The one last week was an actor called Jason Salkey. People will most likely recognise him from the "Sharpe" TV series from the 90's. He played Rifleman Harris. Also got another shoot early January with quite a famous actor.

Been contacting loads of celebs for a uni project and yesterday I went and photographed the actor Phil Davis at his home in London. Only got about 15 minutes with him but this is one of my faves from the shoot.https://static.wixstatic.com/media/931856_7b9c481421bf423a8728f83d1587b6f1~mv2_d_3456_4912_s_4_2.jpg/v1/fill/w_386,h_549,al_c,q_90,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01/931856_7b9c481421bf423a8728f83d1587b6f1~mv2_d_3456_4912_s_4_2.webp

Some lovely shots @benpicko. Particularly like the stained glass one. What camera are they on? Feels like there's a real warmth to a lot of the tones.

It was with a Panasonic GH3. I think the warm tones are more because of the editing than the camera haha. I really need a new one tbh, I bought it just for video a few years ago and I've barely used it for anything other than photos
