MC Prussian Posted 3 March 2017 Share Posted 3 March 2017 Union Berlin with another big step towards a potential promotion to the top division. Beat Würzburg 2-0 at home today and that with a man less on the pitch for more than 45 minutes! Would love to see them in the top flight - heard the stadium isn't up to standard and it'd need a temporary permit, but they're planning on expanding the Alte Försterei to 35'000 anyway. We're absolute dinosaurs over here. They have to give fans what they want. If they tried to introduce premier league type crowds in the MLS, stadiums would be empty. Here football is so popular they can treat fans like muck charge high prices and have full stadiums. The ultra style of pyro and standing, capo's (see capo stand for Orlando) is what American fans want. I don't think we want that enough here. Imagine having smoke being let off during a game, they'd be uproars from fans moaning about not being able to take photos of players etc... Overwhelming support for rail seating in the UK but nothing gets done, the MLS has the advantage of having a clean slate to work with, so you're right, they have to consult the fans as to what they want or no one would show up. At least there's an admission over there that people go for different reasons and areas of the ground are designated accordingly. Here you get treated the same, come in, buy your shitty burger, sit down, buy crap from the club shop and leave, whether you're a 20 year old bloke or a 60 year old woman.
