The People's Hero Posted 14 March 2012 Share Posted 14 March 2012 I heard the news about there now being a 'drought' in the South East about an hour before hearing another huge housing development had been approved for not far from where i live (in the south-east) There's nothing like a bit of foresight and learning from one's mistakes, eh? DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 March 2012 Share Posted 16 March 2012 Well, the cacti and palm trees are flourishing, and the ground has at least sixty feet of sand, covering it. I have invested in a second camel as I expect a belting summer, and expect to visit many an oasis here in Bucks. I believe there may well be oil to be discovered in and around High Wycombe, and shall spend my Summer searching for it. I have a magnificent expandable dipstick. (I must not brag) Anyway, I look forward with eager anticipation to selling real toilet water to all the tourists, and finding myself flushed come the Autumn. I am not being serious, just in case anyone thinks I am.

BoneDog Posted 16 March 2012 Share Posted 16 March 2012 Can't they just plough all the snow up when it snows and dump it in the reservoirs. It might take a bit of manpower and hours, but I've got a wheelbarrow and some spare time. I've always thought it's such a waste letting it melt. It's a disgrace. The last thing the South-East needs is more of you Mildanders and Northerns coming in and pushing up our house prices!

When I worked in Surbiton years back I was witness to some of the areas vast reservoirs being flogged off for housing development. In fact there was a house building company that specialised in this practice on a vast scale, they also had another huge reservoir development in Kew. It is a scandal. Privatisation = The rape of public services for Shareholder gain.

Zingari Posted 20 March 2012 Share Posted 20 March 2012 Is it more better to use the carwash at the gargage or do it at home? Definitely more better at the gargage .but even more betterer if you wait until after it rains and just go over it with a sponge with a few drops of washing up liquid and dry off with a cloth
