The last time we hit 6...

Recommended Posts

...in a competetive game, to the best of my knowledge, we go back over 19 years to the 21st of September 1993

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1993%E2%80%9394_Football_League_Cup

Rochdale 1 - 6 Leicester League cup second round first leg, back when there were two legs to ties.

We won the second leg 2-1 at Filbert Street before going out to the Mighty United in the next round.

Sadly cannot find the lineups anywhere, but I have a vague memory of Ormondroyd scoring at least one of the goals.

When was the last time we won 6-0 though??

And when was the last time that was in the league??

I can't remember one in my lifetime!

On RL after the game I think they said 1982/83 against Carlisle?

May have got the year wrong but they definetly said against Carlisle.

The 8440 shows that Filbert ST wasn't guaranteed a full house and rousing atmosphere especially when there was 29k there for the final home game as we finished 3rd

I remember the Rochdale game. I visited with a mate while I was living in Salford. I also remember the Man Utd game. I left early (depressed) and got a burger on the way home. Conversation at the burger van went:

Cheeseburger please.

How did they go on?

Getting hammered 5-1

Yesssss! United shit getting stuffed by Leicester!!!

No. I'm a Leicester fan.

oh fcuk off!

I lived 10 years in Salford and we never won until the year I returned to Leicester. Still ranckles!!

I remember that Carlisle game 3 penalties, 2 hat tricks (Lineker and Lynex) .

I remember during that era when we played Wrexham at home once . There was literally 6 people in their section of the kop.

I've just had one of those rare "who the hell is that?" moments. Couldn't for the life of me remember Friar. 64 appearances in 4 years but obviously made absolutely no impression on me at all

Ha ha. We went to that game in 1993. I remember Speedie getting in Schmeichel senior's face for some of the game and it wound the Dane up!! We still got stuffed 5-1 though and were no match at all for a young United side (Scholes and Giggs early days - to name a few)......in the days when the league cup was taken seriously still......
