Colin 'Flash' Gordon arrived at City on a free transfer, bought by Brian Little in 1991 after his spell with Birmingham City. A striker, Gordon played as a target man and was of decent standard in the Second Division, even if he did prefer to the ball in the air rather than to his feet.
It took him a while to burst on to the Football League scene, playing for clubs including hometown side Stourbridge and Worcester City before Swindon Town gave him his chance. It was from there that he made moves to Swindon Town, Reading and Fulham, with various loan moves between, before finding his way to St Andrews with Birmingham.
More loan moves followed as he struggled to settle at one club before the Foxes took their chances on the marksman. He had a decent goal return, notching five from 18 starts in the league but, as with all his other clubs, he didn't stick around long. To be fair he was always seen as a bit of a short-term signing and he moved on to Kidderminster Harriers as a player-coach following his stint as a Fox.
His career went full circle, eventually moving back to Stourbridge to become player-manager there.
