Player Profile

Jimmy was the brother of Teddy, one of four Fosse players who were the sons of treasurer and benefactor Joseph. Unlike Teddy, he did not last until the era of competitive football and made just one appearance for the club, an FA Cup game against Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1890, the club’s first in the competition.

He will go down in the club’s record books as being the first man to lift a trophy for Fosse when they beat Loughborough 4-0 in a County Cup Final replay success. He was also club captain and that County Cup success was the first of two.

He also played locally for Leicester YMCA and his life on top of and after football involved being a bricklayer who also specialised in sewerage.
