Bob was a powerful centre-back who broke on to the scene with Wolverhampton Wanderers and then Queens Park Rangers, earning England honours at various youth and 'B' levels, despite being born in Jamaica.
His move to QPR, although seeing him play an FA Cup final and be part of the club's Second Division championship campaign, didn't progress him as a player as much as he'd liked and he moved on to City for a two-year spell after four years at Loftus Road.
He was a fans' favourite, not only looking powerful at the back but also entertaining the crowds with some surging runs downfield from defence. It was Gordon Milne who signed him, but it was a fall-out between the two which ultimately saw Hazell move on.
He had a loan stint back at Wolves, as well as Kilfa AIK before being released from his Foxes contract. Luton Town and Leeds United took a look at him on trial before Hazell settled for a move to Reading, where he spent just a month before finishing his career with Port Vale as injuries took their toll on his career.
