The Australian centre-back arrived at City via South Melbourne, his hometown club, and SPL side Hearts in 2005 and spent four years at the Walkers Stadium, making 140 appearances and scoring twelve goals in the process.

Former Hearts boss Craig Levein brought him to Leicester, along with former Hearts team-mates Mark de Vries and Alan Maybury, but he struggled to adjust early on in his Foxes career, where he played in central midfield. Levein eventually moved him to centre-back where he excelled throughout his career at the club.

His performances caught the attention of a number of Premier League clubs but Kisnorbo remained at City, helping them avoid relegation to League One and winning the players' player of the season award. It was at this point he became a firm fans' favourite. But his career at the club was somewhat hindered by injury and he suffered damaged knee ligaments which ruled him out for six months in April 2008. He did, however, play his 100th game and scoring his last Leicester goal in a 2-0 home win over Ipswich in December 2007. Further knee problems haunted him in the 2008-09 season and after being released by the club at the end of the campaign he signed for Leeds United on a free transfer.
