Player Profile

Gibson was brought to City by manager Arthur Lochhead to help plug a gap left in attack. However, he played in just two league games for the Foxes, and two heavy defeats, in a brief stint at Filbert Street.

Starting his career at Kidderminster and going on to have trials for Stoke City, playing for Frickley Colliery and moving on to Roker Park before arriving at Leicester. Like with City, he only played two league games for Sunderland and made just three more league outings when he moved on to play for Bradford City.

It was actually on foreign shores that Gibson enjoyed his best days as a footballer. A move to French top-flight club Valenciennes proved a success until allegations, later proved to be wrong, about match-fixing brought his spell there to a close. He remained in France and signed for Roubaix but walked out on the club.
