Player Profile

Keeley was only able to make four appearances for the club before a serious knee injury thwarted his football career and he called early retirement from the game.

The wing-half arrived in February 1932 from Chester’s first-ever League side, with City giving him the chance to sample First Division football.

He was brought in to play at right-half but suffered a serious knee injury in just his fourth outing for the club, against Everton. Keeley returned to action in a pre-season friendly match but suffered another set-back, forcing him to retire.

He qualified as a referee on his retirement and also went into insurance.
