Player Profile

The centre-forward arrived at City in October 1919 in a deal with Billy Spittle from Arsenal but he failed to replicate the free-scoring form she showed in front of goal with his clubs before the war.

King netted in his second Foxes game, showing positive signs for his time at the club, but that was to prove his only goal in eight matches during a frustrating period for the club.

He arrived in Leicester seemingly with his best days behind him but he was far from a spent force, becoming Brentford's top-scorer the following season when he moved to the London club.

Retirement was not far away, however, with just one season spent with the Bees before he finished his career with Stourbridge.
