The Hungarian goalkeeper was a popular figure with plenty of ability but who saw his YEAR-long loan spell with the Foxes cut short from Premier League Sunderland. Fulop, who'd signed for Sunderland from Tottenham Hotspur, had been allowed to sign for the Foxes at the start of the 2007-08 season on a year-long loan, but only ended up staying until the following January, with City failing to match Sunderland's £3 million asking price for the stopper.

Budapest-born, Fulop made a string of fine performances in the City number one spot, making his debut just two days after signing in August 2007 in a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace. His performances in October saw him twice included in the Championship Team of the Week and Fulop's top-draw outings against Premier League opposition saw City do well in the League Cup that campaign, first beating Aston Villa before the Foxes took big-spending Chelsea all the way before losing 4-3.

City, then managed by Ian Holloway, tried to sign Fulop permanently for £1 million but Sunderland demanded £3 million for his services, something which prompted Holloway to call Black Cats boss Roy Keane greedy. He was recalled to the Stadium of Light at the end of December and was then loaned out to Stoke City, despite speaking of his desire to remain with Leicester.
