Yorkshire-born Hall had two stints as a Fox - one featuring 14 games in the league for the club and one later on as a guest during the war, playing 30 games during wartime football, and many more guesting for the Foxes' opposition.
He moved to Filbert Street in August 1911 after cementing a key role in Derby County's team, playing over 200 matches for the Rams in their midfield. He'd made his debut as a youngster at Grimsby Town, form which caught the attention of the Rams.
Hall arrived at Leicester with his best days perhaps behind him and it was no surprise when his relatively short stint in the first team came to an end when he was replaced with a younger product in Percy Hanger.
That loss of a first-team place saw him move on to Hyde, Heywood United and then South Shields before returning for that wartime spell with Fosse. Later roles after his playing days included being a Leicestershire FA coach and a scout for Southend United.
