Hall was an out-and-out goalscorer, top-scoring at the majority of clubs he represented and something highlighted on his debut for the Foxes, where he scored twice in a home clash against Bolton Wanderers in September 1910.
He started in the lower leagues before getting his chance higher up the football ladder with Stoke City and then Brighton and Hove Albion. Goals for Middlesbrough added weight to his qualities in front of goal and it was from there that Fosse snapped him up to lead their attack.
It was only a short spell at Filbert Street, although a successful one - Fosse just couldn't hold on to the marksman when Birmingham came calling with a big big for the frontman. He'd scored five goals in 15 Fosse appearances before his short move to the West Midlands - where he bettered his Foxes goal ratio with a goal in each of his first six appearances for Birmingham.
He stayed there for five years and came back to haunt Leicester with goals against the Foxes numerous times. He finished his playing career with Hucknall Town but did return to Birmingham to be a coach at the club.
