The defender made his name with Lancashire duo Bury and Rochdale before Leicester took a punt on him in 2010. He penned a pre-contract in June of that year before officially joining the following month. He struggled to make an impression though, making just one league appearance for the club and three appearances in the League Cup. Seemingly surplus to requirements, he rejoined former club Rochdale on loan in November 2010 and then went to Peterborough United on loan for the second half of the campaign. He rejoined Posh, again on loan, at the start of the 2011 season.
