The Bury St Edmonds-born defender arrived at the Walkers Stadium in the summer of 2008 from Cambridge United following City's relegation to England's third tier. Taking to league football like the proverbial duck to water, he was a key part of the Foxes defence that won promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking.
Playing at right-back or centre-back, Morrison even chipped in with some goals and scored twice in City's last home game of that campaign against Scunthorpe United. He was forced to battle for his first-team place the following season but battle he did, and he earned a new two-year deal with the club. But after a year in the Championship, new additions by then-manager Sven-Goran Eriksson saw him drop down the pecking order and City allowed him to leave for Sheffield Wednesday for an undisclosed fee. He spent an unsuccessful stint with the Owls before moving on to Charlton Athletic.
