The London-born midfielder made his name with Luton Town and his best days were behind him when he joined City for a year-long stint from August 1990, signed by his former boss at Kenilworth Road, David Pleat.

He made 26 league appearances in that one season where the Foxes struggled against relegation, but was sidelined though injury in the latter part of the campaign when City escaped the drop.

He came through the youth ranks at Luton and stayed there for over a decade before experiencing French football with Le Havre. Keen to return to England, Pleat brought him back, to Filbert Street, to try and plug the gap left by Gary McAllister.

Hill showed some signs of his quality, but nowhere near the standard he'd set with Luton. There, he'd featured in over 500 games for the Hatters and was part of Town's League Cup-winning squad of 1982. He also won three caps for England.

After he left City, he was given trials with Oxford United but ended up crossing the Atlantic to play for Tampa Bay Rowdies. A year later he returned home to finish his career with Hitchin Town and then Chertsley Town. His coaching career took him back to America, then Luton for a short spell and Trinidad champions San Juan Jabloteh.
