The Leeds-born striker was turned into a defender for his Foxes appearances but that transition was a failed one, with an impressive debut in a 6-1 thrashing of Sheffield Wednesday soon followed by less-than-impressive outings that resulted in manager David Pleat allowing him to move elsewhere.
As a striker Horner was capped at England Youth level and Rotherham United took him on-loan when he broke through the City ranks. He turned defender just before being thrown in at the deep-end in a time of 'needs must' for the Foxes and, debut aside, it proved too soon.
The striker-turned-defender eventually moved to Halifax Town on a permanent deal and lists Southport, Blackpool and Lancaster City amongst his other clubs. After football he took a degree in Physiotherapy and ended up back at Blackpool as the club's physio.
