Edworthy arrived at Leicester as a strong, reliable and experienced full-back whose best days were perhaps behind him - and so it proved, with the Devon-born defender making just five league and three FA Cup appearances for the Foxes.
He'd enjoyed Premier League appearances with a number of clubs including Crystal Palace and Coventry City and Foxes fans perhaps knew him best for games against their club. He'd conceded the penalty that allowed City to get on level terms against Crystal Palace in the play-off final prior to Premiership promotion.
Edworthy was only signed on a short-term contract, lasting three months, as a free transfer to cover the absence of injured loanee Kerrea Gilbert during uring City's days in League One under Nigel Pearson.
The majority of his spell was as back-up, however, and Burton Albion took a chance on his services after his spell at City came to an end. He did feature in their first-ever league game but soon retired from the game.
