Scotsman Bruce made just one league appearance for City, in April 1936 against Burnley away.
Born in Perth, he was a player who could play in a number of positions, and this was something that perhaps hampered his progress as a professional footballer.
He was a forward during his early days with East Fife but soon built up a good reputation as a full-back. He played on the right wing in his City debut but was transfer listed just days later.
He moved on to Bristol Rovers and St Mirren, where he finished his professional career.
