  1. In the 22 seasons I've been following LCFC I've seen.... 4 promotions 3 relegations 3 playoff campaigns (including some of the most dramatic finishes to games in playoff history) 3 European campaigns 2 League cup wins 1 great escape 1 PL win Some of my family support Forest (I know) and they've spent a total of 2 seasons in the top division in that same time. They haven't even made it past round 5 of a cup competition.

  2. Thousands sign campaign to see Harry Maguire as the new face of the £50 note The former Hull City favourite is the subject of a hilarious campaign set up by a member of the public. ByGareth WestmorlandClaire Gilbody-Dickerson 08:39, 16 OCT 2018 Harry Maguire celebrates after scoring his team's first goal during the World Cup Quarter Final match between Sweden and England (Image: 2018 Getty Images) Over 2,000 people (and counting) have signed a campaign in support of former Hull City star Harry Maguire – for a bizarre reason. 3. The morale of this story is this - young players need time! What was the first thing Puel did when he came into the club? He dropped Fuchs and Okazaki and played Chilwell and Gray instead. Gray scored in that game and it was he who we all thought was the next to break through, but Chilwell sneaked his way in under the radar. Puel has now been rewarded for his faith in young players spectacularly because 12 months ago, I don't think anyone saw this happening. And the amazing thing is that this season we have the youngest team in the Premier League. The youngest! Ihenacho

  6. Just to add my view this is a fantastic move by the club, a lot of rich owners have chucked money at first team players and not touched the infrastructure whilst our owners have done both if not infrastructure more. We're incredibly lucky to have them.

  7. Close the thread, the possible bit is out of date. Didn't look out of place against two decent international sides, a star is born. These young players have qualitee, and we should be grateful we have a manager who has the balls to actually play them.

  13. There are more players in the squad than are allowed to play. Why does Maddison deserve to come on rather than another squad member?

  14. Lasted 6 months or so with a Madrid side that went on to win 3 consecutive champions leagues. May have been 4, not sure. Had all the attacking talent in the world at his disposal.

  15. Probably because he's currently sitting second bottom on two points. I just don't get why people say we're defensive / boring and then want Benitez when his style is worse.
    3 points
  16. The only reason people want someone to name an alternative is so it can be rubbished. Look at the way Benitez is dismissed, a man who has won 9 major trophies including the UEFA cup, Champions league and Europa league

  17. You don’t have to have an alternative but usually if you highlight a problem then it’s always good to have a solution to that problem. You think we should be doing much better than we are and that Puel is the problem, it would make every sense to back this up with a solution - i.e. a new potential manager. Does that not make sense to you? Most of us think our club is special but I seriously can’t think of a manager who’ll try and build some of his squad from youth, put trust in a backbone of British players, change the style of play, operate on a significantly lower budget than Man City, Unite

  22. for the blind fact we won the league or some go by how much we are paying in wages etc, minding the fact there are at least 7 teams in front of us paying more in Wages(think Everton might be ahead of us just about buts its a guess), we arent going to finish in the top 6 for a long time and either way, some of our "fans" have just had a thing against Puel from the moment he got here, and i can actually see what hes trying to do with it all atm too, changing our style a bit to add a bit more passing rather than rely upon counter attack. think patience is needed but got more chance of gettin

  23. Yeah I was thinking about Ipswich too. And to a lesser extent Norwich, Derby, Cov and a host of teams that would go up and down around the same seasons as us. Although I suppose a Cov fan has at least seen his team play in all four divisions...

  25. It's not something you've made up but it is a tiny minority of Tigers fans just as its a tiny minority of City fans. Neither side are better or worse than the other, they're both very strange and very bitter just looking for something to dislike. Even I'm not that petty and I do hate for the most pointless of reasons I've been at Tigers games with my dad where he's checked the City score and 9/10 people around him want to know and hope we're winning, there's often that one nob head that gets uppity because it's a rugby match and we aren't supposed to care.

  26. We're not going to win away in Spain without having a fair bit of luck. Why can't people just enjoy a good win rather than their first thought being 'we were lucky', "its only a glorified friendly' etc. A shame for Maddison but with the Nations League being 'competitive' its going to make it harder for new players to get a chance. Attacking players were never going to get on with the way the game was going last night. Are subs limited in the nations league or is it same as a friendly?

  28. Funny how people who write these or post these only tend to do it to try and defend their own view yet do it under the pretence of creating a balanced view. But maybe they'll also write or post about the 'myth' of generation snowflake or that middle class lefties are just champagne socialists or that remainers aren't patriotic enough.....doubt it though. If people assume that because they voted Brexit or for Trump that people view them as racist then maybe their the ones that are snowflakes. As for all the FACTS about polls, funny how most dismiss them when

  29. Chalobah came on to tighten the midfield. Maddison would have come on and defended the whole time which is hardly his skill set. People can criticise Nations League but both sides really wanted to win that and you could tell the loss really hurt Spain.

  30. At this point it's just fishing because he expects someone to bite. I think it's meant to be "banter." But it's apparently because the nasty Tigers fans are judgemental of the poor City fans. It's a complete load of bollocks, there is a fringe group of Tigers fans that cheer if City lose as well. Both are plonkers tbfh. A good 95% of both Tigers and City fans that I know day to day want pretty much every sports team in the city to win, I'm not sure why you wouldn't really, unless you've an obvious conflict (ie I hope you lose on Friday!)

  36. I'm a recent convert. I had a feeling after Lille and Man U he'd 'clicked'....beforehand I was bemused as to what the fuss was about him. The lad oozes class. He owns the whole left side of the field for us. Overlaps and attacks but amazingly pops up in his defensive position moments later. And don't even appear puffed out. The biggest clue to his talent is his ability to tackle without tackling. He hardly ever has to 'put a foot in'. Because he doesn't get in a mess. He shows the winger down the correct blind alleys. It's the epitome of modern day defending

  40. I'm intrigued. I see no reason not to play Maddison tonight. If you think it too difficult an opposition then look at Winks and Chilwell who have had v little experience but coped ok. What are your reasons?

  41. Am I the only one who doesn't really see the point in this Nation League? I just see it as unnecessary games adding to the number of games that players play in a league season thus increasing the chance of serious injuries and the top players burning out. Not to mention it disrupts the domestic leagues. Also, if the FA wanted to appeal to a wider audience for international football surely it should be on terrestrial TV rather than Sky rip off Sports? It just kills it even more for me.
