  1. That was a good summary of everything good and everything bad about this England side. The attack can't be argued with - Kane, Sterling and Sancho is a front three that promises goals and the way we went through Kosovo time and time again in that first half was brilliant. Raheem Sterling really has turned into a world class player for me now and I think Sancho will go the same way. Kane will always score goals. The defence and midfield however were an absolute shambles. It's a big concern that we can set up with on paper a pretty negative looking side and still ship three to Kosovo

  3. More goals and assists for us. Eventually Southgate will look like an idiot and lose his job. Actually I don't give a shit. Happy that he's rested and injury free and ready to go again for us.

  7. End of the day it's his wedding. They're guests who have been offered the privilege of sharing one of the most important occasions of your life. If a vegetarian invited you to their house for dinner you wouldn't demand that they provide a dish with meat in it so why should that be any different for a wedding? They're still the ones providing the meal. Providing a vegetarian option at a regular wedding is different because not doing so means all the food contravenes their diet whereas a meat-eater at a vegetarian wedding isn't faced with that dilemma. A person can of

  8. Lots of football fans pretty much go OTT (either way) about players / managers after a handful of games. Let's not forget Vardy struggled in the Championship at first and again in his first PL season and he's turned out rather well at the top level. Perez hasn't really worked... yet. He may not work for us of course but sticking the boot in this early doesn't reflect too well on fans.

  9. It's actually not just this, it's about trying to market the product internationally, including in the states. They don't have to sell Watford to English people because you're either born Watford or you aren't. But it's missing the point. I remember a post on here years ago that always stuck with me, the point someone was making was that globally, fans like the British side of British football. They like clubs being called United and City and having old, traditional crests. They like, or liked, our older looking stadiums and the sense of the slightly archaic that goes

  11. Come off it, a chimp should be able to get us through these qualifying stages our group is so weak. Southgate has a great bunch of young talent to pick from but, in my opinion, is just starting to make the same old mistakes of the past. Players should be picked on the strength of their current form and not on what they did 18 months ago out of a misguided sense of loyalty. Selected players should be currently playing for their club sides and, where possible, played in their corrrect position and not just shoe horned in due to their name or which club they play for. Usu

  14. Shorting needs to be given a very serious look, I don't see how it can be socially desirable to create a way of profiting from failed projects. It basically provides financial incentive to a select few very rich people to make sure large-scale financial disasters happen.

  15. This just isn't true and sounds a bit paranoid. Whilst Maguire was at Leicester he often got in ahead of Smalling (United), Jones (United), stones (man city), Gomez (Liverpool) and Cahill (Chelsea). And Chillwell since breaking into the team has got in regularly ahead of Shaw (United), Rose (Tottenham) and young (United) and Delph (man city). If a player is good enough and fits into to how Southgate wants the team to play he will play.

  17. Seems to be a common trend in society to be more and more needlessly reactionary. It's hard to find a comments section/thread where someone brings up being vegetarian, vegan or just cutting down meat consumption, or some other eco-positive life choice like reusable straws that affects no-one else inevitably to have some fat bastard 'proper bloke' have to butt in with "think I'll have double portions tonight then xD" "I'll ask for two PLASTIC straw next time xD". Obviosuly it's nothing necessarily new, but it seems like its more and more common, probably due to professional contrari

I've lived in Spain visited the majority of the countries in the Europe Union and had regular work trips to half of them. The flip side is that a minority of people will exploit it, but in my opinion it is worth it. You had a bad experience, but I would blame that on the Government/ police. You didn't say if you reported it, but there should be safeguards in place to protect immigrants and British people. The last few governments ha

  20. I'm getting married this November and my girlfriend is a vegetarian. We went for all vegetarian menu however there are still meat options for kids as we know they can be picky. Everyone were cool with it and picked their dishes, some of my mates ripped me a new one but I would have not expected anything less :D. However, the girlfriend's cousin decided to respond with "It would not be nice if we had a wedding with meat only dishes hun". I get that there is a debate lying somewhere in our choice to plump for vegetarian only menu but there is time and place for that.

  21. A draw is acceptable. Playing for a draw is not. We need to get past this “it is Manchester United” mindset until they (and Chelsea) prove they’re back to their usual dominance. Right now Manchester United is just another mid-table football club.

  27. This isn't directed at you in particular obviously, but this really grinds my gears - the trend to add more and more letters to the acronym to pander to increasingly niche genders/sexualities. It's completely unnecessary - the Q for Queer should encompass pretty much anything that doesn't fall explicitly under LGBT (even if the individual themselves doesn't explicitly identify as 'Queer'). We don't need every single individual to be explicitly called out - we're a community and some aggregation is fine. After all, there's no point having an acronym if it ends up taking longer to say/explain it

  28. A member of his own cabinet quit the other day saying she'd seen little interest in negotiating a deal. We have to be able to separate what we want to be the truth (because we've signed ourselves up to a cause and committed ourselves to whatever reflects kindly on it) from what the evidence suggests. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Johnson conjured some sort of deal, possibly as a result of those 'devices' Parliament has placed in his path, but there's not much evidence for it in his actions over the past few weeks. Within or outside of the government. And this is the

  32. But the document has constantly evolved since it was first produced, according to James Cleverley, meaning someone's been updating it since COBRA took the project over. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-news-latest-no-deal-boris-johnson-yellowhammer-james-cleverly-a9071301.html And come on, you were questioning the integrity of Yellowhammer's initial authors - otherwise why bring up the fact they are allegedly "quite pro-Remain"?

  33. Do you reckon if Mount played for us or Wolves for example he would have been picked in the England team after a few prem games? Even Rashford? I’m sorry but he’s so overrated it’s unreal, if he played for a team outside the top 6 he’d be nowhere near. The reason all the players you mentioned don’t get in the team anymore is because they had their chance (earlier than any of our players) and proved to be useless, with the exception of maybe Gomez

American football has never been so big in this country and personally I think its great the skill and ability on show week in week out is incredible but you know its just not British and has no right to be playing on our soil. Next you'll be saying that you've never eating a Chinese or had an Indian takeaway.

  39. Pickford, Chilwell, Keane, Rice and technically Sancho all started last night and don't play for big 6 clubs. In Keane's case he kept Gomez of Liverpool out the team. Maguire was a regular whilst he played for us. Southgate doesn't like Maddison. Doesn't see him as his type of player, he's said as much in the past.

It is not helpful and not relevant most people on here have very nuanced views on Corbyn and have no wish to have the same discussions again. The matter in hand is the absolute shambles that is the current state of the Government and the fact that Brexit is turning into the biggest farce ever.
