  1. This is one theory which is doing the rounds. Another theory is that CR and RV have cooked this up to smoke someone else out but not sure I'm buying that. FWIW, I find it really hard to believe that Mrs V would flog stories for a few measly quid on the quiet when she can make some serious money herself and her OH is pretty wealthy anyway. Having spent a small amount of time in her company, my personal opinion - possibly an unpopular one - is that she's really down to earth and lovely.

  4. Grow up. It's clearly the right thing to do democratically given the current state of pubkic opinion, the wide gap between vote leave promises and reality and fact it was a vote based on theory rather than reality. If a version of leave gets the people's backing then it would be a version that exists and is ready to implement. If the people look at the final options and decide that they'd prefer remain then that also is immediately actionable. The idea that remainers in parliament have attempted to ignore the will of the people is demonstrably false. We have a divided pa

  5. No. In a democracy, the people have a perfect right to change their mind. In this case, one the biggest ever decisions and totally irreversible, it is more important than ever that the the final deal is really what the majority want versus the existing arrangements. I’m genuinely surprised that this isn’t self evident to anyone who calls themselves a democrat. As just about anyone who has argued for this has said, a second vote would be a simple ratification of something actually deliverable. The legislation would already be in place and would automatically become law upon approval

  6. I can see why some might take issue with it, given he was called up, but it's not as if he was at a casino the night before a game where he was playing. Blown way out of proportion, I feel.

  8. Hi all, 12 months down the line we're looking to replicate the special scenes at Cardiff last season. Please help to spread the word and raise your scarf as the players emerge from the tunnel and on the 60th minute, and join us in belting out When You're Smiling, which has undeniably taken on new poignancy since last year's tragedy. We're not aware of the club gifting scarves this year, so please bring your own and encourage others in your circles to do the same. Up the City.

  9. Similar to the own goal he created against Newcastle, sneaking into the right hand side of the box. I'm a big fan of Praet think we have a hell of a player.

  11. Am I losing my mind? This thread is bonkers. This isn’t football manager you know. I’m always amazed at how eager some fans are to ‘cash in’ on our players. Chilwell is first choice leftback for us and England, runs up and down the wing all day, defends well, is good in the air. And he’s only 22. The big clubs aren’t mugs - they’re interested for a reason. Yes, he doesn’t have a great final ball - but if he did, he wouldn’t be playing for a club like Leicester! There can’t be many better left backs in the league right now. What’s the plan here? S

  12. For me, the phrase "in a casino" is part of the problem though. It conjures up images of him sat there with some entourage, necking champagne, partying. It couldn't really be further from the truth. He was actually sat there drinking soft drinks on his own playing poker with a couple of regulars. Guys that go in there just to actually play poker because they enjoy the game. Hobbyists. It is his hobby, he's there quite a lot and is decent at it. If he was in Forbidden Planet playing Magic The Gathering, nobody would give a shit other than probably calling him a bit of

  13. Was there much later than that but wasn't drinking. But really I mean, who cares? It's his time. The whole thing is tragic, both from the Sun and from whichever absolute ****ing wastegash actually grassed him up to them for some gossip. We moan that footballers are out of touch with the real world but when one of them is just sat quietly on his own mingling with the public playing a few hands of cards, he's either harassed or snitched up or in some other way put off.

  15. 3 years and a totally different style of football under 4 different managers is incredibly rapid change. I think Rudkin has definitely grown into the role of DoF as we're seeing a much clearer strategy now. Getting Soyuncu and Benkovic in before selling Maguire was very shrewd

  16. Fuming at this. Trippier isn't playing badly for Atletico, but TAA IS playing brilliantly for Liverpool, Southgate's own fault here. Keane - Playing poorly for both club and county, with Gomez and Tomori playing well for club are ignored on the bench Maguire - United are shit lately but Maguire is usually decent in an organised team. Rose - Spurs are in freefall so he decides to start him. Chilwell isn't in brilliant form, but is doing damn more than Rose. Henderson and Rice both doing well for club but Jesus Christ they can't be played to

  17. I'd ban pre-rehearsed goal celebration routines. I'm looking at *you* Dele Alli and Son Heung Min. But yeah, racism and violence, too, I suppose. But mostly, pre-rehearsed celebrations.

  19. Pogba is a brilliant player, it’s just that United ask too much of him and he’s surrounded by dross. Seems to me he’s a bellend which probably doesn’t help his case but he was brilliant in the 2018 World Cup when he has great players around him. Imagine your midfield partners being an Etch a sketch Darren Fletcher and a completely past it Matic trying to create chances for Rashford and Daniel James

  20. Turned down an England call? The article said he was confined to his room for two days and they didn't want to risk him travelling. That's not turning down a call, that's being told to stay at home. Very different things. If he isn't on international duty, he's on holiday just like a lot of our squad are, which means he can do what he wishes within limits.

  25. Evening gents. Thought I'd post a quick update. I've been trying to get back to normalities, went back to the flat, arranging to meet friends for a drink this evening and I feel quite, well a lot better. We met yesterday as we agreed , we talked at the flat, went for dinner and cinema. It wasn't a date, but she said she does want to try for us. This made me feel a lot better. The part that destroyed me was when this all came out, she was willing and did walk away without any effort. As everything was perfect and so unexpected, it hit me hard and made me f

  28. He got sent home so not to spread the virus to other players, unless the casino has the rest of the England squad there then I don't see the problem. If he's just got a simple bug like a cold then that doesn't mean he has to lock himself away and stay in bed for the next week. It could have been a lot worse. We could be in a tournament, a few days before playing one of our biggest games ever against Germany in a semi final and he goes out partying in a caravan with the sex pistols. Exactly what Southgate did at euro 96.

  30. Personally I think it obvious that he is a "denier" (though I use that term loosely, scientific sceptic is better IMO) given the language he uses, but of course it can't be proven courtroom-style either way as he is smart enough to not be that blatant about it in print. "What-about-the-Chinese" and treating the entirety of the green movement (yes, I know he's talking about ER only here but again the inference is obvious) as neo-Luddites and hypocrites in a classic strawman are arguments that have already been discussed and debunked on here and in other places too - if you want me t

  35. Considering the Sun’s level of decency I think we’ll sleep easy on this one. It’s not advisable and a bit naive (like others have said), but equally if it’s just what he does to unwind then it’s entirely up to him. I think it’s a different issue if he’s out partying, drunk and disorderly ala George Best. If he’s just playing cards and not really drinking, I don’t see a problem.

  36. Most of those players weren’t expensive enough for united, and that’s where their scouting problem comes from. It’s not exactly difficult to scout a 100 million quid world football star given the resources and unlimited amounts of money is it. So in effect, they’re not really scouting players, they’re just buying the allegedly best players

  40. I'd say he was a top tier signing, he may be a bit of a fringe player now but he's one of the under sung heroes of the league title campaign, played more games than the main trio of that season iirc and we bagged him on a free transfer. His delivery into the box, is genuinely second to none
