  2. I would quite happily pay for streams. I live in Scotland and can't usually get to games. I already pay for Sky, BT and Amazon. I don't want to illegally stream non televised games, but I have no other reasonable option, if I want to follow my team. Please, please, someone take my money and give me the service I would be happy to pay for - a reliable stream of Leicester City's games which doesn't provoke a ton of spam emails and dodgy pop ups.

  6. It would if alongside their streaming they had to provide live television, a global news service, national radio, local radio, worldwide sports coverage, weather, and all the rest. People talk as if Netflix is free but let's not forget it costs £107.88 a year so the BBC is less than 50 quid more per year for about twenty times the content.

  8. The BBC is phenomenal value for money. For a little over twelve pounds you get nine national TV channels, TV for the regions, online TV streaming, ten national radio stations and regional stations carry sport, music and current affairs, oh and a bloody good website too. Without sounding like a little Englander, they also produce and screen over ninety percent British content whereas Netflix is around three percent. The diversity of content too is amazing. Netflix does not produce news, current affairs, live TV or sport yet the BBC does all of this. From looking at the costs I'd say the others

  12. I don't watch Leicester every week but try to watch them whenever they are on TV this season and based on what I see he'd be the last one I'd be wanting to lose (bar Vardy of course). He plays at a level of one of the best right back's in the world and no offence but if you lose him your not going to be able to attract that level of player no matter how much you spend whereas guys like Maddison, Chilwell, etc I think you could replace far easier.

  18. Interesting quote from Dan Ashworth, Brighton’s Technical Director, outlining the pecking order and how BHA are trying to establish themselves in it. He sees a big six; then a small, elite next tier, with LCFC first-mentioned; then a yo-yo league of 20 including the rest of the PL plus the big Championship clubs. Clubs that can go up or down in any given year, but can aim for the lower top half of the PL if managed very well. “To establish ourselves on a regular basis in the top 10 is difficult but not impossible,” Ashworth says. “You’ve got the traditional top six. 20. The argument against the BBC is that the license fee is seen as a tax. As others have said, it isn't. You can opt-out. Many of our tax pounds are spent on services that most of us will never use in our lives, and rightly so. The Beeb is a service 99.9% of us use most weeks if not days, and it's genuinely the envy of the world. Even though there are commercial subsidiaries (BBC Studios being one), largely because of the way it's funded it is absolved from that KPI which is the be-all and end-all of nearly every other major broadcaster: ratings. People cannot moan about

  21. To play devil's advocate, Ndidi's talents would likely go to waste on a team like Man City. For 75--80% of the game, when Man City have the ball, he would be considered a liability because he is not a world class ball playing central midfielder. There's also doubts that Pep Guardiola will stay at Man City in the future. If he did move to a club like Man City, he could be out of favor with the next manager. With Leicester City, he knows where he stands with Brendan Rodgers, and he excels in his current role.

  22. Lallana is done imo, don't see how he'd enhance your squad much and would want a lot in wages for a player who would likely sit on the bench. What Leicester have been really good at in recent years is succession planning, bringing in younger replacements for players in before those they are replacing actually leave. I get this can't always be the case but Soyuncu is the classic example of this approach working well.

  23. Safe standing across English football has come a step closer after a report found it had “a positive impact on spectator safety”. The findings, made by the Sports Grounds Safety Authority (SGSA) in an interim report, have been welcomed by government. They could herald the return of standing to the top two divisions in England for the first time since the implementation of the Taylor report, should they be borne out in the final version of the report due this summer. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/feb/07/safe-standing-across-english-football-step-closer-sports-ground

  24. At filbert street in the 90s, away fans could still pay at the gate. My girlfriend at the times dad, was a senior steward and always worked the away end in the old east stand. so I used to rock up early around an hour before KO and pay at the gate with the few early arriving away fans. once I was inside, I would then walk down to the front and ask for ******* who would then let me climb over the barrier and walk pitch side and put me into pen 2 or 3. Worked a treat, no bother until once against West Spam, I arrived late, did the usual but ****** said you’ll have to stay put until

  26. He's crap, enormously over rated player when he is fit which is barely ever. He's not in a position we need at all and we've got our quota of attacking mids who jump on the floor at every touch in Madders, don't need that diving, cheating cvnt as well.

  27. He’d improve the squad/bench in terms of depth and hugely experienced having played at every level but he’s not been able to get into a Liverpool side really in the past 3 years and has had numerous injuries. He’s also what 30-31 now and would want wages to rival our top earners... It’s a no from me.

Basically just an extension of the Hard Left view of MPs and party leaders as delegates taking their instructions from the party membership......even if they're in govt & supposed to be acting in the national interest and primarily accountable to parliament, not the party. There's also the whiff of an assumption that they won't be in govt - just narcissistic professional protesters, parroting a series of "principle

  32. I'm sure the BBC might need to evolve but for me, the licence fee is excellent value. Those people who moan about paying it are probably the same people who wouldn't care if "Planet Earth" was replaced by another variant of "Love Island" The BBC isn't perfect, but it is a lot better than a commercial alternative. I know a lot of people claim the BBC News output is biased and whilst they may not always get the balance perfect, they do attempt to strike an impartial balance which is more than you can say for the alternatives.

  36. I think the general idea was forward planning to have young Centre Back cover that can be developed, the general theory being that it's better to have too much than not enough. Obviously nobody could foresee injury problems, and he's still not a failure, as Evans will need replacing eventually. The fact he's gone out on loan tends to suggest he's well regarded, and they want him to get up to speed without exposing him to the very best immediately, especially since it is hard to argue against our current CB pairing. So that's why. Bennett is a safe option that allows t

  42. I see the argument but disagree. Whilst I acknowledge some dips in performance, even on his worst day the amount of solid involvement he has in build up play and his passing and movement allows us to play the way we do. I think he’s probably a bit knackered, young family etc and whilst I’m still waiting for him to score one of those 40 yard screamers for us on the volley, I’ll continue to be a bit patient with him.
