  3. Five years ago when we were a newly-promoted team, underdogs and the Premier League was still a novelty to some. Now, with solid seasons and incredible success since, I don't see a struggle making the crowd noisier in a positive way.

  4. I wouldn't hate this completely because it's still objective, there's still a measurable and definitive cut off but it'd much harder to prove a negative (you need to look across the line for a part of the body essentially being blocked by another player instead of being ahead. It'll be trickier, not impossible but less clear than now.) But it won't stop you having players offside by a millimeter. This is what people need to stop being ****ing retarded and get their head around. The "problem" isn't a problem, however you decide to write the offside rule there will alway

  5. It's hilarious watching Liverpool fans, players and Klopp getting pissed off at Atletico's style, the poor officiating and all of it. As if the rest of the prem haven't had to deal with it from them all year

  6. If you have watched Manchester City play under Pep Guardiola you will be familiar with the process. City attack in numbers: the centre-backs on the halfway line, both full-backs pushed up, the midfield dominating possession. If City have the ball, they have a good chance of scoring. But if they lose it, well, you know what is coming next. Of course, City are desperate to win the ball back quickly and go straight into the press. But if that press fails, the opposition have a huge open space to break into, with just two or three stranded defenders in their way. In that instant, the odds ha

  7. Good luck @UpTheLeagueFox I hope you continue your journey. i agree with others generally in that it becomes more enjoyable the more you make it a habit and push yourself (for your own goals and aims) I hated and I mean hated running growing up, I had (still just about alive) a dad that ran 100 miles a week plus and ran marathons all the time and coached at international level during his halcyon days so to speak but as much as I admired him, growing up having holidays in a tent near the next race sort of put me off in all honesty my dad now has vascular de

  10. Just to confirm you’re happy with these both being goals - (and how do you check without lines ) just making new laws without considering their wider impact is stupid defences will have to sit so much deeper that the game will change for the worse - you won’t recognise it

  16. I have two Breitlings, one is a mechanical Chronomat with a slide rule. I used it constantly when I worked as a site engineer on the M6 . The other is a 1990 Navitimer which I bought when I was learning to fly a plane. It was very useful since it had two time zones However, @Rob1742is correct in my opinion Patek take some beating, I was in Govberg's in Philadelphia, on the cusp of buying a 5035 in rose gold at $13500. I thought, this is madness and walked out. That was in 1998 and today you won't see much change out of $50000 for the same watch.

  18. Appreciate the continuing advice. Went on the treadmill at the gym yesterday and ran the same distance (non stop) as the day before - 5.6k / 3.5miles - and didn't take one sip of water !!! I can do it !!! Walked a bit (and took on some water) then ran another 1.5 miles. (Did 10k run/walk in total, 63 mins, burned 1000 calories) Thanks again for the inspiration and ideas.

  23. The analogy is a very poor one, though. Accepting gay people or people of other ethnicities did not impinge on anybody else’s rights - it was just a matter of people becoming comfortable with difference. Men being allowed to enter female-only spaces is a direct and serious assault on the rights of women and girls, and the substantial majority of people in this country will never accept that. Using gay rights or the fight for racial equality as some kind of predictive model for trans rights is an absurd logical fallacy - there’s literally zero equivalence between them. Aside from a ti

  27. As nice an idea as it is I can’t think of anything worse than having to meet any of you in real life. I hate most of you enough already so I daren’t even dream how much my level of deep, deep bile towards you would rise if I met you in the flesh. I like to just sit on my saggy, spotty arse and judge you all from afar. If you want to film it and I can just bombard a match thread with sputem filled anger then that would be fine. In fact I’d love it. X

  30. Just heard McManaman talking about the Atalanta/Valencia game (there was a break in the Spurs game build-up!) and it's literally so generic He clearly knows nothing about what these teams and players are like. Just name-dropping here and there and got the old 'Valencia need to get the all-important away goal' line at the end too.

  35. We're all entitled to our beliefs. If you think that privately then fair enough, if you're going up to trans individuals and telling them this on social media or in person, the you're out of order. It's not for you to decide how they identify. By the way that Dawn Butler clip stinks of stupidity rather than a 'woke' view. Pretty much all physicians and scientists agree that biological sex at birth is not up for debate, it's one or the other. Gender is a different matter. My personal belief is that there's a gender spectrum.

  36. **** off Klopp, there wasn't any major talking points that game at all. You should see some of the shit we have to put up with week in week out. He's such a despisable cvnt, like to make out he's this happy cheery character but in reality he's the biggest nob going when things don't go his way.

  37. Oh to be a Leicester fan! Currently, players being dragged off include Schmeichel, Chilwell, Choudhury, Tiellemans, Maddison, Vardy, Barnes and Perez. We are therefore only doing so well because of Evans, Soyuncu, N'didi, Justin, Mendy and Ienacho. Oh dear. Maddison is a marvellous player. We have loads of brilliant players. We have fans who exercise their right to be opinionated. Many of the opinions lack the class of the maligned players.

  41. This is so true. I was in the stands when the pre-match drink flinging was taking place, but after 90 minutes of mutness (including me, I was knackered and uninspired by the game) they suddenly piped up in the concourse, on the walk out of the ground. What happened? Lads around me instantly firing up their phones for a Snapchat or Insta post. There's a whole misnomer around "OAPs" who, by the way, have every right to be there having likely been at the game for years and years and years preceding the young lads who disrespect them. The flaw is that it hinges on there being thousands

  42. Football is more popular than at any time since the post war boom. The English Premier League is the most successful and entertaining in the world. Grounds are safer and more family friendly and relative to wages ticket prices have fallen in the last 10 years. As for Leicester, the club is easily the strongest and most successful it’s ever been. The O Neil era was great at the time because it was the first properly successful period since the early 60s but taken overall, the team is now far better and Claridge would be the first to admit it.
