  1. Personal thought is pure confidence, before Christmas we were winning every week. Even in games like Everton where we maybe weren’t the best side. Then getting rolled by Liverpool and Man City and players knew they weren’t quite as good as they thought. They haven’t recovered since.

  6. If Puel was our current manager this forum would be raging and calling for his head. But ... because Rodgers is a media friendly, media loved individual with the blarney of a conman he's excused, there no consistency. If Ranieri, according to some on the forum, was supposed to have leapt on Pearson's bandwagon then the same could apply here in regards to Puel and Rodgers. I'm not a 'get rid of Rodgers' individual but neither do I find myself convinced by him or think he's got a great managerial record, he's very flawed and I'm certainly worried about him and Congerton having much o

  7. So we've now drawn 4 and lost 7 out of our last 14 games against PL sides (including cup games v Everton and Villa). That sounds awful but reviewing what actually happened paints more of a nuanced picture: Everton away (Cup) - played them off the park for 70 minutes but lost our way in the last quarter before ending up with a draw thanks to a last minute worldie equaliser. Man City (away) - totally outclassed on the day but they are a brilliant side. Liverpool home - ditto Southampton home - lucky to get away with a 2-1 defeat. Bad. B

  8. I think you need to be more open minded and stop thinking of only extremes. I take his post as to mean Rodgers rightly so should be not above criticism. For me Rodgers needs to prove he can turn a poor team into a winning team, as its arguable his good start was just piggy backing on what puel achieved. The organisation from that appears to be falling apart.

  13. Don’t want to see this turn into a Rodgers bashing session and trying to look at it pragmatically but this is akin to a lot of the criticism he faced latterly at Celtic and from what I believe at Liverpool. The obvious difference to when he was at my club is he’s in a better league, with better opposition and sharper managers who have sussed out how Leicester play and as such can negate it. He is reverting to type and sticking to his one dimensional way of playing when it’s so obvious teams have worked out how to neutralise it. He got away with this stubbornness in Scot

  15. This has got shades of Peter Taylor written all over it, positive start to the season but frailties shining through. Wouldnt surprise me if there are murmurs in the dressing room because it appears as though some of the 'star' players just aint playing for him. 1) A team that passes backwards more than it does forwards. 2) One up front against the team who are rock bottom of the league and had not scored from open play in 700 minutes. 3) No Plan B even though its clear we were sussed out nearly 3 months ago. 4) Absolutely unprofessional and a clear lack o

  18. Of all the bizarre declines in our player’s ability, Chilwell and Maddison’s are the most inexplicable. It’s literally like they are totally different players compared to a few months back. They look devoid of confidence? Wonder what on earth has gone on at the club for this to happen?

  20. He is an interesting extract from a fan/writer down under, summing up that joke VAR! This age-old sport, one that has gifted so much joy to people from contrasting backgrounds, has become the victim of technology and automation at its finest. The so-called ‘fool proof’ system of VAR is robbing football of goals and it might just have called the worst call an official has made in its short but fractured history. Let me just establish this, I am not a Foxes fan, nor am I a Canaries fan — but as a neutral, I was genuinely disappointed (not angry) with the decision to chalk off Ke

  21. Hey we're only 6 points off our league winning season at the same point. Plus we got further in the League cup and FA Cup this season. If we'd been offered 3rd place, a cup semi final and progression in the FA Cup back in August we'd all have snapped your hand off. 17/18 we finished on less than our current points tally. Let's keep things in perspective. Every team has a blip. Now is a good time to get it out of the way (we had a similar blip in 15/16 too) .

  22. No urgency, no fight, no excuses. These four games were pivotal in our season and we've pissed up the first one. Yes, I think we were unfortunate with the disallowed goal but we had fvck all after that. This is the type of team I can't stand- the lack of desire and urgency after going behind was pathetic. I can accept mistakes, I can accept them being unfortunate but fvcking hell, give yourself a chance. Carrying far too many players at the moment. The football we play is horrendous now.

  26. He deserves serious praise for what he achieved at the end of last and the first half of this season. However, I'm wary of managers doing well with inherited players and then running into a bit of trouble which they struggle to navigate their way out of. We've seen bosses arrive, tweak things, address prior shortcomings, but then create their own. It's especially a phenomenon with the 'impact' manager who overhauls coaching, changes the system, puts smiles on faces, but struggles to sustain success. There are extreme cases like Taylor (who was 4th in March, of course) and then less glaring exa

  31. I think it's the fact that there has been a multiple of bad performances since Xmas. Not just this game. The worrying thing for me is that there is no plan B. I can't see where the goals are going to come from. I can't see Vards getting back to his form of the half of the season and coupled with the service being so so poor, I just don't see how we will score. Plan Perez has to be dropped. He simply cannot play on the wing. Perhaps have him and nacho as 2 upfront. Barnes does all the hard work and then just makes the wrong decision or his final shot/pass is woeful. Madders recently all style a

  32. If I hear one more comment of "but we are still 3rd" I'm gonna explode! This is BAD! we are in real trouble. we are running out of games and no run of form to build on. It's desperate football at best. We are going to blow this whole season. Rogers has to be put the sword now in his post match interviews.

  35. Really? To what? That guy took a third tier side, took them up two divisions, kept them up and moulded by far the lowest budget title winning squad in history. Is that not good enough for us? How much further have we come than that?

  41. He did however take over a club in complete turmoil with a mismatched ill bought bunch of players. Rodgers had none of that and has better players. The current league position is of course brilliant but the 12 points in 12 games extremely poor for the quality of players he has at his disposal. Had it not been for early season form when such players were completely energised by his motivational skills I wonder where in the table we'd be? Motivation is a great and vital asset but if not matched with tactical nous, success can be short lived.

  44. People keep talking about players not being good enough - and I agree with that to an extent. But we're losing to teams with inferior players and who are miles below us in the table. I mean losing to Villa over 2 legs, only taking 1 point over 2 games with Norwich, losing to Burnley and Southampton....this isn't because we don't have any quality. There has been no intensity in most games since just before Christmas. For our form to drop off this dramatically (we won 8 on the spin this season FGS) it's more than just some players not being good enough. For me, there is c
