  3. I've only been to 6 games this season, and we've lost every one of them. However, i've given my head a wobble, and shook out the negativity! Currently, we are 1/4 in betting to make top 4. Champs league football beckons. If you honestly believe we will capitulate to the extent that we don't qualify for the champions league, go and take the 3/1 we don't make top 4: easy hedge, and you can profit from being proved right. We've had a dip in form lately, and I'm not too enthused about some of the tactics at times either. But, deep breath, I really don't think the likes of B

  5. That decision was made not on the basis of what happened, but on who it happened to. Corrupt.

  6. I've never believed the game in this country is corrupt and I've never believed all this 'big club' conspiracy bias. But this season I'm seriously having my doubts. Just too many coincidences.

  7. Just a reminder 2008/09. Won league one 2009/10. Reached Championship play offs semi 2011/12. Started process to get rid of the crap signed by Sousa and Swen 2012/13 Play off semi(again) 2013/14 won championship 2014/15 stayed up in first season back in PL and had put the building blocks, and more for winning the premier league. obviously some lows , specifically the loss of form in the second half of 12/13 and the dismal run in the middle of 14/15 but like the Brian Little & Martin O’Neil years great time to follow the club. The fact we still l

  10. Lived through and enjoyed both era's but MON had a slightly better foundation to work with. Pearson picked us up off the floor after close to a decade of decline. What he did was extraordinary.

  11. I always felt the club was in safe hands with Nigel at the helm. I always felt we could win a game, even when going behind. I always felt the players gave everything when they played for big Nige. Nigel Pearson = Legend.

  12. Hopefully this is a joke but in case it isn't here's some persective.... at one point in 2014 Pearsons Leicester got 2 points from 13 games. In 2020 in Brendan's absolute worst run as manager, a run which has people like you up in arms he has got 12 points from 12 games. 6 times more points than Pearson's worst. Yes Pearson was good for the club but it's acient history we are currently 3rd having our 2nd best season in our whole history. The players and manager are in a bad run, sod the nostalgic posts about Pearson let's get behind what we have now and hopefully enjoy

  13. Sarr really beginning to look the part with every passing game in the EPL now. At an age he’ll only get better too. Can’t help but think he is proving the one who got away in the summer, would have been very much attainable and would have been a better option than the money spent on Perez.

  14. No idea where that came from! Outstanding performance - kept Liverpool to virtually nothing on our goal and Sarr was a real menace.

  17. We;re going to get bullied at Watford, can't see the likes of Chilwell, Perez and Maddison fancying it. We need to invest in tougher players over the summer for physical matches.

  18. We were all moaning at Southgate because he wouldn’t play Madders but he’s dead right. He shouldn’t be anywhere near the England squad, never mind first team at the moment. He’s got a good heart, anyone can see that but he’s been acting like an absolute dick recently. It’s obvious he doesn’t have the same affection for us as he does for Norwich.

  19. It's an extremely difficult situation. The most important thing is that people get the right care and support for them to live their lives, 100%. One of my oldest mates is married to a trans man from the States - he got the right support and help at quite a young age and is 'living his best life' as they say, both very happily married and a wonderful couple. On the other hand, I was a DofE leader at a school for about 15 years. I dealt with hundreds (maybe thousands) of kids in that time, getting on very well with most of them. We had some kids that were openly gay, so

  21. I think it’s all a bit of an over reaction from a fan base that’s getting a bit over entitled to be honest. And this place is getting to the stage where it’s a bit of a joke in that regard. Hate to say but it’s becoming that annoying big club forum we all used to moan about in years gone by, we seem to think we have a god given right to beat anyone bar Liverpool. In terms of this year the points against Wolves and Chelsea are decent results, Burnley Southampton and yesterday were shit granted, you’ve got good results against West Ham and Newcastle to balance that out, it’s disappointi

  23. The journalistic and political scaremongering really annoys me. Yes it's possible this could become pandemic, which means it's an infection that involves every continent on earth, even if it's only 1 confirmed case on that continent. However, let's get things in perspective; European flu killed nearly 2,000 people in the UK last year, so far 3, yes THREE, people have died in this country from Corona virus. The statement from the DoH, quoted in the Independent, suggested that this thing could kill 800,000 people in the UK "IN THE WORST CASE SCENARIO", which will never materialise, has been jump

  25. That result in the final will see villa going down in league I think. They put so much into getting there, played out their skin against us. But they've barely picked up a point since. Then they've played well today and its come to nothing. I just think it'll be hugely demoralising and after putting everything into try to win the cup and failing I don't think they'll be able to get up for the league.

  27. I'm not convinced the players aren't motivated. They are young players who are massively overachieving relative to expectations - I can't see where the motivation would be lacking. More likely I think is that our current rut is down to a combination of a lack of confidence, some key injuries and us overachieving in the first half of the season. The dial moved on the expectations surrounding the club after the start we had to the season, and probably the squad aren't quite there yet. You're always going to get periods of inconsistency with young players, and as much as we are capable of great th

  28. Man didn’t land on the moon either…! It can feel like a conspiracy and imagine getting the decision wrong in ‘big’ club game brings its own pressures… My step dad was a ref at quite a high level…. They all do there best, they all try to be unscrupulously fair…. I occasionally run the line when my lad plays and and I call it as I see it…. I think there is quite a British thing (Cricket and all that) about being fair in sport… Oh…. And the final point…. Refs will not progress if they make bad decisions and will get nowhere at all if they appear to bias… Ther

  32. I’ll try and look at it from my perspective, that’s like me saying Celtic nearly went bust x years ago so that makes out capitulation at home in Europe the other night ok. Come one now, let’s get real, it’s about the here and now, not what happened yesteryear. Your standards, objectives and aspirations should be based on where you are now, not over a decade ago. Your sitting third, with champions league qualification in your own hands with one to the best paid managers in European football, stop looking for excuses and cop outs.

  33. It's rare that you see the mentality that the Shakespeare/Pearson combination seem to instill in their teams. I don't think they're anything special tactically but they are incredible man managers. Nigel is clearly a scholar of the game, especially the Psychological side of things, he understands where to get that extra 1% when the odds are against him and I bloody love him. He's the man who made me love football again.

  34. The vast majority of us love Nigel Pearson for what he's done here and hope he keeps Watford up. He deserves praise for beating Liverpool but I think some of the opinions I've seen on here on him are a bit over the top and borderline odd, I'm not even talking about the usual suspects who come out with OTT comments anyway.

  35. Not particularly trying to say anyone slating him is wrong and I understand lots of folk are just stating that he is not being utilised properly rather than that he is shite which is probably fair enough but I am bored so have been looking at the numbers. In terms of goal involvements (goals + assists) our top players are performing thus... Player Goals Assists Minutes Goal Involvements per game Vardy 17 4 2193 0.86 Maddison 6 3 2313

  36. Can someone please remind me when a lot of poster's on here turned into ...yes spurs fans... if we dont finish in the top 4 the season is a disaster blah blah blah ,if it wasn't so sad it would be funny. Entitled does not do it justice. Lets get back in the championship like our beloved neighbours and remember what we once were then maybe everything will be fine for everyone.

  39. Can't be doing with this chat about 6th being a good season still. The league is complete horseshit outside of the top 2 and we managed to get ourselves in a great position by being consistent for 8 games. To **** that up now would be a travesty and the run of form it will require would be bad enough for a manager's job to be insecure. Not to say we will **** it up, more than capable of turning it around over the next few games, but at the moment we've played well 4 times in 3 months and since the middle of December we've won 3 times in the league (West Ham were useless sacked the

  40. This is the case of a player not playing suddenly becoming better than they are. For instance, Gray has 12 goals in 155 appearances across all tournaments for us. Perez already has 7 in 23 playing out of position.

  42. Play our strongest team and go all out. Our confidence is completely shot so a big win and performance is needed. In preseason we played plenty of lower league opposition to build up a winning habit and I feel it worked out well. All that said, given our current form nothing can be taken for granted and I expect a tough game!

  43. I think saying that at the start of the season would be fine, but having been in the top 3 for virtually all the season, with what 11 games to go and then failing to achieve champions league football would be a disaster, it would be an absolute collapse given CL qualification is so firmly within your grasp. Saying we were shit x however many years ago as if that’s somehow a reason or excuse for passing off a collapse is a pretty poor, unambitious cop out imo. For what it’s worth talking of his position being under threat however is ludicrous imo. That said he’s not abov

  45. He’s a good technical player, links up well with Ricardo, scored a few goals and gets a few assists. He’s a decent player but expectations of him being the game changing winger we’ve been waiting on since Mahrez has left has made people turn him in to a scapegoat for little apparent reason. Could have done a lot worse for £30 million, but we do need another attacking player as well in the summer.
