  1. Quite amusing from a Liverpool fan. Fair play

  3. Can this be a confession thread for all meat eaters who carry with them some truly despicable acts of meat consumption? 1) them grotesque sausage rolls from the corner shop called Pete's or something. Pastry is always the absolute bins and falling apart and the meat nearly bounces out your mouth when you eat it. Usually contains ketchup or something equally as synthetic as well 2) tinned burgers, once had them for a laugh. Weirdly enjoyed them, have had way more tins since than is acceptable 3) beans and little sausages - at the centre of many a comfort meal. Feel really

  6. Sustained success involves winning stuff. Stuff like domestic trophies. Stuff like the FA Cup. Winning the FA Cup would be one of the highlights of our club's history as well, assuming you understand our history predates 2016? The idea that having an ambition to win English football's second biggest trophy somehow reflects a "small club mentality" is laughable - oh, and it absolutely does smack of arrogance too. Oh, and I couldn't give a flying fvck about brand recognition abroad. That is utterly meaningless to me. I'm a Leicester supporter, not a marketing manager.

  7. People keep citing the Wigan, Portsmouth examples as if winning the Cup wasn't the highlight of their fans' time supporting their clubs. That's what football's all about! Days out and silverware, not nodding quietly at home in appreciation of the financial benefits of good league positions. It's so disappointing to see the Cup described as "tinpot" on here. It smacks of a certain arrogance which has crept into some of our fans since the league wins and I don't like it one bit. As others have said, what's the point in retaining/recruiting good players to end up in an una

  9. I'm assuming you are not gay from that comment, despite your username. Why would you think that gay men would want to stand next to each other at the urinal? When you see a "fit bird" in a pub heading towards the toilet do you think, "Aw man, I'd love to have a slash next to her!" or is it just that you're a "peeker" at the urinal.

  10. Eight points clear (effectively nine unless GD takes a big hit) of fifth and below with eight games to go. We'd have taken this scenario. Don't panic!

  13. Unless he presented a capital threat to police at the time he died (which he of course did not), who George Floyd was and what he did previous to the incident involved is absolutely irrelevant to the matter at hand and a distraction from it. This is about institutionalised police malpractice towards people of colour in the US which he was a victim of, and nothing other than the way he died has anything to do with addressing that very large problem.

  14. I work for a food manufacturer and I think the general consensus is that meat consumption will reduce in the future and meat alternative consumption will increase. There are a lot of big retailers showing more and more interest in it. There are loads of environmental issues surrounding farming and rearing cattle to produce meat. The Chinese have in the last few decades really got on board with refrigeration within the home which has increased their meat consumption ten fold - to a point in which U.K. pork had been supplying Chinese demands during the recent swine fever outbreak in

  15. Nobody "needs dropping" after one game back. Bit of rotation will help keep the squad fresh, but this is almost a new season, remember. Gray looked good when he came on, so maybe swap him and Perez in for Barnes and Albrighton. I'm a bit loathe to swap out Barnes, but having him coming off the bench is a nice little threat to have.

  19. Dunk is on nine yellows, so the next costs him two games. BHA can ill afford that. Not sure whether that will affect his positioning or aggressiveness. You’d think it at least rules out the professional foul if Vardy receives a pass on his shoulder. Another reason to play aggressively and test them early.

  20. The two play off finals that i managed to get to were undoubtedly massive highlights of my time supporting the foxes. The euphoria of actually getting tickets, the journey down to London, the atmosphere etc. Second only to watching us lift the PL trophy. The league cup (twice), albeit from afar. For the majority of us who cannot actually go to midweek games in European climes (time, finances, work commitments, ticket availability etc) a decent cup run is what stirs the blood. Yes it is great that we have such fantastic owners with a vision of sustainable growth and ambition and i would never k

  21. Watching the first round of the 1994 Open golf championship at Turnberry, Scotland. I’m bursting for a piss out on the course and spot a portaloo by the 6th tee. Ran in there (not knowing it was for players only!) and none other than Jack Nicklaus is stood at one urinal and I had to stand right next to him. He glanced at me in bewilderment but said nothing, zipped up and walked out. Must admit I had a quick peek at his legendary goods - fair to average I’d say. True story, rarely told

  23. Appreciate the sentiment, but there are countless reasons why somebody might call themselves a vegetarian and not a vegan. I am practically vegan but I don't particularly like the term because of all that comes with it. I also would find it a little hypocritical to call myself one if I were to eat even the tiniest amount of dairy, for the same reason that I wouldn't call somebody who had sex once a decade a virgin. Meat farming is bad for the environment - Some people become vegetarian because they care about the ethics, but don't have the will power to give up dairy, so what? Yes

  25. We require five wins for CL qualification. Or five match days where we equal or better the results of the chasing pack. Realistically, three wins should be enough. With three wins, we achieve 63 points - which would the following of the chasing pack Chelsea to win 4/8 - 50% of their games. Manchester United and Wolves to win 6/8 - 75% of their games. Sheffield United, Spurs and Palace to win 7/8 - 87.5% of their games.

  26. I keep telling this to myself and it's true but the nagging concern of 2 wins in 9 games both against the absolute pits of the division in West Ham and Villa. In fact we've only won 4 of our last 13 games and all 4 wins were against dross, we have been punch drunk for a long while and need to snap out of it. Vardy and Ndidi are now back which were a big loss to us pre-pandemic but we now have Ricardo missing who has often been the real star man for us at breaking the lines and making us sparkle. This is a huge game and we simply must win it, it will give us that bit of confidence t

  28. Thing is, the cases in this country weren't to do with the meat carrying the virus, it was people working in close proximity to each other who passed the virus around. What if they had been working in a potato factory, would anyone give up chips?, doubt it.

  30. He's a really solid player, very few flaws but in an attacking sense its unfair to compare him to Ricardo who is likely in the top 5 attacking full backs in the Prem, if not Europe. I think we are at risk of really missing Ricardo when our right wingers are as workmanlike as Albrighton and Perez.

  32. Yes and that's fair enough. But there's a difference between saying "I'm disappointed that our play isn't as cohesive or fast as it could be" and "LCFC are crap, [insert player name here] is garbage" etc. The way you've labelled your criticism here is fair and warranted, but not over the top. It's the difference between the type of fan that spends the entire 90 minutes complaining about the team, and the fan that gets behind the team but reasonably points out where we could improve in a constructive way. I know which fan I'd rather sit next to! Criticism is totally fair. Whilst by

  33. Great observation, and I hope fans can be reasonable enough to see this is the case. Some of the posts in the match day thread were frankly embarrassing to read. Players haven't had a competitive game for 3 months and we don't know how many have had to self-isolate in that time. For any athlete at the elite level, not being able to train at all for 2 weeks is going to put you back massively in your fitness schedule. Even Liverpool and Man City looked rusty as did pretty much every team in some way. It's probably going to take at least another 2-3 weeks to get back to previous levels, though th

  36. The chasing teams need to win 6/8 minimum if we get 65 points. We need to stop worrying about others and focus on ourselves. It’s worked ok so far this season. The players are confident. We are actually a very good side. Not one of our games left aren’t winnable. Teams around us have tough games to come too.

  39. He did well. Decent in the air. Solid. Really unfair to compare to Ricardo but difficult not to. Justin is quick, positioning looked decent, just not got the flair of Ricky p. Ricky p for me isn’t just one of the best full backs in the league, he’s one of the best players.
