  1. It's working for us because we have players who are natural wing-backs (all the better when Pereira is healthy), and we don't have players who are natural wingers. All the guys who start regularly as wingers are better playing centrally, with the exception of Albrighton (and I would argue he's better-suited to wing-back than winger). Three at the back allows more guys to slot into roles that are natural for them. If BR wants to play with wingers - and his career proves that he does - the long-term solution is to get some guys who can actually succeed in that role. In the meantim

  2. I worry about my sanity during this lockdown..... I had a vaguely erotic dream about the Spice Girls last night. In real life, I have no interest in them, never mind dreaming about them. I had been hired as their sex slave - presumably by their management, as they knew nothing about it when I turned up. They were all in bed - in a line of single beds in a chain hotel room. Ginger seemed to be in charge and was hostile to my presence. She told me to fvck off and no mistake. I then got into bed with Baby Spice, there was a bit of heavy petting and some, er, inco

  3. Hang on, did we really start with 3-4-1-2? Justin and Chilwell were pretty much operating as full backs, although Chilwell also occupied a bit of the left wing, with Tielemans and Vardy moving a bit to the left to support when attacking while Nachos brilliantly moved into midfield to help pick up the ball on occasions. It wasn’t until Bennett was introduced that we really started playing 3 at the back, which given Palace’s only threats pretty much came from the occasional crosses and corners I thought it was a great introduction.

  5. Taking a few days off, I’ve been flat out for weeks working because I was worried it would die off. My subcontract work has tailed off massively but my own stuff is taking off really well. With all the petty crime, riots and protests I think people just want home surveillance to ease their minds. Keep up the good work scumbags.

  8. Said it before but will say it again, Liam Rosenior was the best Sky pundit without a doubt. Only 35 & retired from playing in 2018, he’s articulate, knowledgeable about most clubs and players not just the big clubs, tactically savvy, in touch with modern football ways, schemes, initiatives, perfect ambassador for kick it out as proved with his letter to Trump, does not use any of the standard lines ALL the rest use around their analysis or descriptions of a player and I’ve not heard him say err, umm, like I say, or has ‘x‘ in spades just a really intelligent bloke. 10. Cats are possibly the best pets you can have. They are clean animals, they keep to themselves, and best of all, they are low-maintenance. You don't have to worry about them starving or getting stressed o as long as you leave them a door or a window to go out and do their thing.

  11. Their fixtures are quite kind, mainly playing bottom of the league fodder. Hoping Southampton can get them with a sucker punch and defend like Trojans like they did against Man City. The coverage is awful. One thing I have seen since this Covid crisis is that the BBC are far superior to Sky at broadcasting and punditry of football matches. Sky is just a click bait big six wankfest, its infuriating. Selling players that are not even for sale.

  13. Glad you commented in this thread as I've been meaning to! He's been our best player. Even that save from Cahill, only looked so easy because he made it look easy. M I understand the frustrations with his kicking and command of his area but how many howlers does he actually make? Look at De Gea and Lloris; two keepers considered world class and arguably the 2 best shot stoppers in the world but they are constantly making mistakes. Not in month of Sundays would I have either of them over Kasper. Every keeper at the top level is a great shot stopper but what makes a great keeper is t

  14. Can't be happy spending all season 2nd or 3rd, only to finish 5th. Before the start of the season, fine. But now? It'd be the result of a terrible second half of the season.

  15. I'll only be happy with that if we perform very well over these last 5 games and win at least 3 of them. If Utd or Wolves and Chelsea win every game and do us then i'll reluctantly accept it.

  16. Denouncing trade unions in the public eye and therefore getting rid of them which consequently offers no protection or rules on how factories can operate safely. The politicians are ultimately at fault for bad working practices and low pay. The owners are bound to take advantage because their workers have no rites and therefore can be told if you don't like it, you know where the door is. British workers spent years establishing unions that protected the workers just so owners couldn't take the piss. Why people like Hancock are questioning working practices in Leicester is beyond me, it was pe

  18. No doubt the TV will be wanting it to go to the wire at both ends of the table to make the final day a winner takes all scenario. They will be hoping that the man utd game and chelsea vs wolves could provide a full set of combinations for final positions from 3rd-6th whilst at the same time being biased towards utd and Chelsea. If it finishes with us and wolves in 3/4 then it will have been a plucky effort and the others not quite being able to make up the ground, clubs in transition, bringing through the youth etc. If the other way round of course it would all be about how quality came throug

  19. It let's us get our currently best in form players on the pitch and cuts out the ones that are struggling. Our wingers aren't playing well, Iheanacho is. Plus, Chilwell seems to have some of his attacking confidence back but he's still an airhead that needs cover down that side and an extra CB does that. Equally, whilst I thought JJ looked great in his cameos earlier in the year, I think he's been exposed as inexperienced (totally understandable) in these few games and he could do with the support also. I'd stick with it for the next couple games probably, certainly u

  23. We’ve an actual chance of winning the Europa league. That would be immense. But champions league is where the cash cow is and where we can attract bigger players. I think more than anything, we’d be so gutted of how we’ve let the situation slip if we don’t make CL because for months it’s looked nailed on. The Europa Thursday/Sunday thing is an absolute myth. What’s the difference to playing Wednesday/Saturday when in the champions league? There are the same amount of group games in the EL as the CL, too.

  29. Everyone seems to be jumping to conclusions far too quickly here, the bloke has only played 45 minutes of football for us after 6 months of no gametime and we are analysing every single second (e.g. Cahill header) as if it proves how good he is as a player. Quite frankly, we will need to see more but all in all I was very pleasantly surprised with how Bennett performed. Seemed solid, cleared everything, put in some tackles and didn't really put a foot wrong. Looking forward to seeing more.

  30. I felt like we started with a lobsided sort of 3-4-1-2. Perez was certainly playing centrally just off Iheanacho and Vardy. Albrighton often played with JJ just inside him and further back and Chilwell basically had the freedom of the left hand side but with no support. The graphic below shows how lob sided we were with YT often filling in to the LB slot to pick up the ball to encourage Chilwell further on. Diagram almost looks like a 4-3-2-1 with MA quite central but I thought it looked like it was supposed to be a 3-4-1-2 imo. Hence I think it’s unfair that Chilwell has received

  32. Careful clambering down from that high horse of yours mate. Is that that funny / surprising? I rarely have a chippy but there's a lot to be said for nostalgia and the senses that come with food and it plays a huge part in people's enjoyment of it - given the make up of this forum would have grown up here, and the chippy being a staple treat in Britain, it's not that much of a shock a vote went that way. Tom Kerridge picked takeaway fish and chips as his dream main on Off Menu last year in all - it can be really, really well done too.

  33. This is very true. People often moan about his limitations but they tend to overlook just how great he's been for us a long time. Trying to replace him, like with Vardy, will be a big ask.

  34. All these posters saying kelechi may move, where is he going to move to? His only options at this stage would be a downward career move, at his age he will be looking to move up, which at the moment he has not played well enough. He must know he has to gain the consistency to win a permanent place in the City team for any lucrative move. I am not so sure as some, that he will make it here, but there are signs at last of improvement. In 18 months lets hope we have a real worry as to him moving, but at the moment there is no chance he wont be here next season.

  35. People don't mention it that much, because we've gone on and lost or drawn our games since the restart. Truth is, he has kept us in those games with some great stops. He's also been very good with his distribution and reading of the game. If we're lucky, we can keep him in his prime for a couple more years along with Vardy.

  36. No, purely because of the position we were in at Christmas/January. No team with the points lead we had should end up 5th. The sad thing is, one more goal scored or one less goal conceded will probably end up being the difference between 4th and 5th for us. If you'd have offered me 5th and Europa League prior to the season starting, I'd have snapped your hand off.

  39. Easiest team selection of the season. Schmeichel Bennett - Evans - Soyuncu Justin - Tielemans - Ndidi - Albrighton Perez Iheanacho - Vardy Of course if Chilwell is fit he’ll probably start, if Maddison is fit he can stay on the bench. Bring Barnes on around 60-70 minutes and have him terrorise the shit Arsenal defence.

A quality player who has made a real difference to us both off the bench and now alongside Vardy this year. Delighted for him, he's clearly put in so much work to make it happen.
