  1. Can you imagine the hoo-ha if Corbyn spunked billions on furlough, dished out bike vouchers, made constant vague ambiguous announcements, destroyed our City's economy and, had Diane Abbott driving to Barnard's Castle riddled with Covid?

  2. I think as the dust settles on a successful yet disappointing season I think it’s worth acknowledging this mans contribution. He’s not had an easy ride with us, he arrived with such high expectation and never really got the run of games needed and when he has played it was often in a role he wasn’t used to. After things going terribly and fans getting on his back it would have been reasonable for him to seek a move elsewhere. But he stayed professional when others simply wouldn’t, he got his head down and worked his socks off to improve behind the scenes.

  4. Honestly **** the sceptics and the whinging bastards that have slagged him off over the past few years. This guy is a proper Leicester City Legend. Yes the club has moved on but without players like him we wouldn’t be in a position to move on. Throughout the league one renaissance right until promotion to the premier league he was arguably our most consistent and important player. I wish him every success with his next club and I hope when we can all return to the ground we can give him a proper send off whether that be a testimonial or as an opposition player

  5. Clueless? Just because you don't hear anything in the press about transfers? You have absolutely no idea what goes on at the club even if it's a bit quiet. Absolute misery.

  8. When Kelechi is either in the starting 11 or about to come on, I get excited as I think something will happen. In turn, I get frustrated every time he is taken off. That shows the impact for me at least that he has made this season. Still young, lots to develop but a key member of our squad.

  9. The lack of big announcement makes me fuming. This is people’s lives they’re messing with. But then again. This is the government who wants to cure obesity by giving out 50,000 ‘fix your bike vouchers’ whilst making fast food places and restaurants so cheap, that if you gave them beggars outside Maccies near the Clock Tower a fiver, they’d be fed for a year and still have enough change for 20 Mayfair.

  11. This forum is definitely an echo chamber. There's a group of around 15-20 posters that are the type of grown men who say things "Spuds" or "Manc Poo". They obsessively use the new rep feature and their new favourite is the passive aggressive laughing face response now that the passive aggressive confused face got removed. They heard that Congerton didn't have much success wherever else he's been and will blame all bad signings on him while refusing to give him praise for good signings.

  12. For next year, we need to recognise the reason for our downfall this year, which was to me mainly because we were found out by the opposition, starting with Norwich on 14 Dec, then Man City and Liverpool in the next two league games. I remember very vividly. If I can break it down further: - Prior to that point, we could play free flowing football because BR brilliantly used Vardy to stretch out the opposition. During that time, we were still “known” as being a counter attacking team because of “know nothing” pundits. So teams focussed more on neutralising Vardy’s runs by sitting

  14. This just goes to show that the government don’t give a sh*t about anywhere north of Watford. The same goes for the media. The government pretty much is the London council, with a member of the government occasionally photographed eating a pie in a PR exercise to show they do care about the north.

  19. It is interesting that you've responded to @AKCJ about this, because he sometimes says stuff I agree with (such as here) but he also spends lots of time saying stuff that makes me want to tear my hair out. Likewise @Matt, likewise @StanSP, likewise @Nick, likewise even you. There is no self-righteous click - anyone capable of giving a decent argument, and of showing they can hear an opposing view gets my attention. You've been criticised here because you've asserted a position with no basis - that's all. I resisted saying basically what Stan said, but it did occur to me. As for passive aggress

  24. Who is “acting quickly” ? Brighton have done good business for them. Lallana on a three year deal for his wage would be poor business for us. He will probably start more games for them then us. The lad they’ve signed from Ajax would probably get into their first team, at Leicester he wouldn’t get a starting spot (who would you replace ? Pereira, Evans or Soy ?) For those reasons, they were probably easy deals for Brighton to do. Man City have snapped up Ake and Chelsea have opened up the cheque book to buy two highly sought after and expensive players we probably couldn’t afford in te

  31. I feel sorry for Newcastle fans having had to put up with Mike Ashley and the distinct lack of ambition from a football club that could do better. But it's a shame that in being so desperate to rid themselves of him that they were willing to whore themselves out to become a PR pawn for the Saudi regime. Very little respect for them. Its amusing that they think its a conspiracy against them and against anyone challenging 'the order'. Everton were allowed a takeover that has allowed them to spunk loads of money and they've achieved nothing from it. They assumed that being a Saudi pa

Probably cos a) all the way along there's been a tentative assumption that infection rates would be lower in summer anyway and b) cos there hasn't been a 'general collapse of social distancing' (top marks for Sun style drama). We'll gloss over the fact you're at risk of selection bias clouding your judgement and look at stuff for which there is evidence. People aren't packed onto public transport, people aren't packed into offices, people aren't packed into pubs and theatres and other indoors venues. I suspect the vast majority aren't having as many indoor meet ups with people (doubt theres da

Just to add on top of what you have (and specifically to your first point), I think importantly it was not just because of a change of mindset or style of play, it was because we were found out by the opposition, starting with Norwich on 14 Dec, then Man City and Liverpool in the next two league games. Also noticable the several "that's it, I'm done with football I'm never watching again" type posts. This is good news for us. If NUFC had been well backed by the Saudis they might have been a more formidable opopponent. As it is, if they sell rather than buying, they could be in danger next season.
