  1. Well done, Ayoze, after only 2 games you have now been awarded FT scapegoat of the year for 2020 to 2021. Be proud of your achievement as you are in accomplished company. Other winners include Ben Chilwell, Richie Wellens. You've beaten off all of the competition early, including James Maddison. Wear your crown with dignity and pride.

  2. The other argument against getting knocked out early is that this competition gives us the opportunity to give game time to our peripheral players: Ward, Gray, Albrighton, Thomas etc. We never know when a run of injuries might come along and we need these players fit, motivated and ready. It’s fourth priority at this stage of the competition, but still a competition it would be good to do well in. We need to drop this small club mentality that the squad can’t cope.

  5. Have gym's been affected by this latest ruling? I get married next year and the Mrs signed up for a joint membership at the start of the month to get us fit and I'm already looking for an easy way out. Any glimmer of hope that they may shut down again in the coming weeks?

  7. 95th minute of the last game of the season, Leicester are a goal up against Tottenham in a game they need to win to secure Champions League football. Son has just dived predictably in the box to win his side a penalty and for the second consecutive season it looks like City hearts will be broken on the final day. As Harry Kane is stood over the ball at the spot, out of nowhere, the lighting in the stadium all goes out (covid scheduling has delayed all final day games to evening kick offs.) A single bell tolls. Before Clive Tyldesley can get the words BY G

  10. There's zero chance of full capacity games this season, I'm convinced of that. Back when this was announced and people voiced their concerns, the usuals put them on blast calling them "ungrateful" yadda yadda yadda, but now it's conceivable that those that raised their issues with the club may have saved the collective fan base hundreds of thousands of pounds when that credit is carried over to next season. In the current climate especially that's a gargantuan amount of money so respect to anyone that spoke their piece and took flack for it, be it on here or on the cesspits of Facebook or Twit

  11. I went to Turkey when I was 9 and wore my yellow City away shirt, which garnered some occasional attention and nods of approval. I made friends with a 16 year old Pool-Boy, called Tolga; bought my first album from a market (Thriller) and had the shits for 7 days. Memorable.

  13. God I wish Squawka still had the stats from the championship, he dominated Drinkwater in almost every aspect. From Tackles to chances created, etc. When James wasn't in the team, we missed him more than any other midfielder and the results matched that. He suffers from the same shite players like Mendy and often Praet gets. They don't do the Hollywood stuff so they don't get the glory. King better... FML.

  14. Once again this cult-like faction desperate to always be in opposition, desperate to tar slogans and words with bad connotations like the extremes of each side like to do. Will bemoan the Conservatives winning the next election and the harm they may continue to bring upon the nation, but will be sitting in their bubble of smugness thinking that their views are superior because Labour "went blue."

  19. This is the gist of it, really. Even with the inconsistent way he's been used Praet's quality has been obvious from day one, and it's unbelievable how so much of the fanbase seems to have missed the boat on him. He does things to help you win every time he plays. Adding to that, the switch with Dennis playing in a more advanced role and Tielemans lying deeper has clearly helped both of them. Tielemans has a tendency to disappear from games when he plays where Praet is playing now, but he's more involved in the transition from defense to attack. And Praet is superb at getting himself into

  22. I actually thought that Berner was the best left back we’d ever had at the time (that’s if we’re calling Guppy a wing back). Long forgotten now we’ve been spoilt by Fuchs and Chilwell. Mind you I was brought up on the likes of Tony Spearing and Mike Whitlow.

  28. Barnes is genuinely better than Zaha but he doesn't get hyped like Zaha because Zaha is a big fish in a small pond whilst Barnes is just another good player in a team of several top players. Barnes still has work to do with his finishing but his build up play and technique and the way he carries the ball is superb.

  29. The chances that Ünder will create for Barnes and Barnes for Ünder is going to be superb. Add in that we have full backs also attacking the far posts now and I'd be gobsmacked if we don't improve on our goals for again this season which gives us every chance of another push at the top 7.

  30. I’ll never understand this view. Realistically we only have three chances this season to win something and we have a proud history in this competition. Sure we’ll rotate but win the game and keep the momentum going.

  31. I have to agree with all that but let's be honest, Justin's goal did not come from precision thought out passing like Barnes's was, it was far more luck than judgement. It was a hit and hope pass into a general area after a peice of out of control meanderings which nine times out of ten would lead to Perez either losing the ball or him hitting it against an opposition players legs. He flatters to deceive and far too often is given the benefit of the doubt by genuine supporters that are willing him to do well. It's sad, he tries hard, but is woeful and adds little nevertheless. The law of avera

  32. I usually like your posts but can’t agree with this. I think he was involved in two of our goals? He wasn’t poor and as others have said, our pattern of play went haywire for a time after he was subbed Clever player is Pérez imo. Shame he’s so lightweight

  34. Indeed, it's the CEBM, however, none of it confirming or supporting the following: Actually worldwide overwhelming evidence suggests that lockdowns help contain coronavirus outbreaks and prevent additional deaths. Data shows that where lockdown measures have been observed to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic, that the spread of the virus can be significantly reduced and suppressed by this preventive restriction. However, that alone will not actually stop the virus, China had to undertake rapid testing of any suspect case, immediate isolation of anyone who was a confirmed or suspecte

  35. I've never particularly rated Matty James, never seen the fascination. Efficient passer but nowhere near the level of a top 4 PL side. Everyone's sentiment harks back to 2013/14 which is best part of 6/7 years ago, it's mad he's still here. He's played about 35 games in 6 years for us. People who say he was better than Drinkwater are forgetting that this is based purely on that 1st season in the Prem when we were bottom of the league for most of the season and hardly a glowing portfolio of superiority. Drinkwater was the best midfielder in the Championship in 2013/14 and then after

  38. See this is why dogs have evolved much further as a species than the human race. They don’t have to worry about wiping, just a quick sphincter nip and it’s all over, and if they do get in a bit of bother it’s a quick wipe on the carpet and a human comes along and gives it a good scrub.

  40. Why do you compare the UK to Sweden and not Sweden to Norway/Finland. I mean based on your utter nonsense acomparing Peru and Brazil based on them being next to each and having some poverty, then it should be Sweden and Norway based on the fact they're next door to each other and have some rich people. Of course you wouldn't because your argument consists of specifically chosen data points without, ironic given you've just lectured someone else on it, any attempt at sophisticated contextualisation. Correlation ≠ causation and so until you build a complex model controlling for all r
