  1. Leicester are in advanced talks over a new deal with Harvey Barnes as they look to fend off interest from a growing number of clubs. The 23-year-old has been one of the Foxes’ star performers this season and the club want to reward his progress by bringing him into line with other top earners. Barnes, whose side face Arsenal today, has scored 13 goals and chipped in with four assists, and become an integral part of Brendan Rodgers’ plans. Manchester United and Liverpool have both had the midfielder watched, and Leicester want to nip speculation over his futu

  2. Brilliant tbf. Found out about a year ago that my job was at risk of redundancy, which was then confirmed about June - was originally meant to be leaving in September last year. My line manager managed to get me kept on temporarily til December, and then extended again til May, but he phoned me up on my day off today to confirm my redundancy is now cancelled and my job is reinstated. Massive weight off my mind!

  4. https://www.footballinsider247.com/mcavennie-leeds-united-told-to-raid-leicester-city-after-transfer-report/ Delusions of grandeur, half a year in the top league and suddenly they can raid an established Premier League club (that hasn't been lower than 5th in nearly two years) for players 😂

  6. The West ham game was the result we needed. Nobody is catching Man C now and we just need to focus on top 4. If anyone genuinely believes we can win the league with our injuries, our recent performances, how good Man C are and how far ahead they are, then you are deluded. We need Man U and the teams below us to drop points, forget Man C

  9. I personally quite like Brighton. They are a pretty inoffensive club playing attractive football and I don’t think they are very far away from clicking. I take the point about wasting money, they have. The recruitment needs to improve but they are a club who are building an identity and are trying to get better rather than just avoid relegation. Brighton are exactly the sort of team the league needs

  11. No one is glad we're out the Europa Cup but some of us have accepted it and trying to look at the positives. It might end up saving our season. If we can come out the end of next week favourably we could be well clear in the top four race and a chance to recuperate and concentrate efforts in the FA Cup QF. Man Utd will have played their second leg in Milan on the Thursday and if we have Maddison back and no more new injuries then that tie could be a coin toss. As I say I'm not happy to be out of the Europa but there are certainly some positives to being out, I'd rather

  12. This isn't about next season or the future, this is about now. Being written off as if he's now finally past it. Like he was past it when he came back from the World Cup in 2018 and Puel started claiming Demarai Gray was a genuine heir to his throne, then again in early 2020 when time had finally caught up with Vardy and it was the end of the road. I don't deny he's immune to aging and his game is now somewhat different to being played in with 40 yards on goal when he would win any foot race even from a few yards behind, but what we as a club have done under Rodgers is look at what

  13. Creating a much-needed 'calm down' thread. Feel free to come and hang out here whenever the meltdowns get too much. We're out of the Europa League, a competition that offers a CL spot for the winner and absolutely nothing for second place. No glory. No riches. Just miles of travel and a bunch of tough midweek fixtures against some established European stalwarts. We are stretched to the brink with injuries, and people are demanding too much from a thin squad. Calm down. This has been an unusually tough season physically and mentally f

  15. Same thing happened last season. Some people never learn. Anyone thinking we, or anyone else for that matter, are going to catch Man City, is deluded. They're currently 10 points clear (about to be 13) at the top and on a 19-game winning streak in all competitions (about to become 20). They will win the league. This is their bench today: 7 R Sterling 9 G Jesus 13 Z Steffen 14 A Laporte 16 Rodri 20 B Silva 22 B Mendy 27 J Cancelo 47 P Foden

  19. No chance we’re in a title race this season. Man City would have to lose another 4 games before the end of the season and us having to make the difference up on them. All whilst hoping United don’t do the same. So let Man City take points from those around us.

  24. https://www.lcfc.com/news/2045092/leicesters-league-cup-triumph-memories-21-years-later/featured Extract - Skip forward a few hours and the team is back in England, heading for the Sketchley Grange on the M69. A meeting has been called by the manager – and he’s had time to stew on it. O’Neill arrived an hour late, a tactic many of the players believe was designed to increase the tension before the moment the patter of his footsteps could be heard in the corridor. “Then he’d just come through,” Walsh explains. “He tore his jacket off and threw it on the

PS Matt Mills was alongside me for talkSPORT and I asked him (off air) about Nigel Pearson. Let's just say Matt's not a fan and they clearly have differing views over one incident in particular.

  32. There is no way we are going to catch Man City, it will be difficult enough to get top 4, West Ham are a definite danger to that so it's a no-brainer that we want City to win

  33. You don't unecessarily disrupt a current top four team just to appease a kid and his entourage. Whether there might have been opportunities in a previous cup match maybe that's another matter but you have to trust the competence of the coaching staff who see him every day. Rodgers is paid to win football matches by whatever means. If he feels currently that he can't shoehorn in a 20m Turkish international why does this kid think he's any better? Premiership and even Division 1 football is far more of a challenge than u23s. If he was seriously that good, a manager like Rodgers would have played

  34. We threw it away by not performing, not from the team selection. That was a s strong as could reasonably be expected. We need to rotate, there have been recent signs that the players are running on fumes. I would say that it depends on a lot of things. If we find ourselves in this position next year, ie last 32 of The EUL but third in the Prem with 13 to play, then yes, we might well prioritise Champion's League qualification. If we were mid table, then prioritise Europa League. If we have a full squad to choose from things might be different. This season has take

  35. Go ahead then, no use saying it. I have - I even discussed it earlier in the thread. They were also technically inferior to our current squad and in spite of what you say, the league campaign/title defence was a shambles. So you think that we have regressed since then? Interesting. No one is "totally cool with it". This thread is simply a measured response to the outrage, histrionics and irrational fury that erupted on Thursday evening. An attempt to look at positives as opposed to negatives and be grateful for where we are and how far we h

  36. Seems like it's not going to happen here for Cengo. He's got plenty of ability but whether it's been the luck of chances from November through to February in the league but he now just doesn't seem confident or motivated which is annoying. It's probably not motivation but it feels that way, an on loan player who probably senses he isn't going to be staying here and it's effecting him. He was really poor on Thursday, so frustrating as we badly need him right now to be impacting on games. We have absolutely nothing coming from Albrighton currently, Maddison now injured, Perez injured

  37. I think this Ricardo as a winger lunacy has to end. He’s clearly far more effective as a fullback, and Thomas isn’t worth playing Ricardo out of position to shoehorn in. Play Pereira and Timmy, whichever sided you like. At this point I think Kelechi in the Maddison role is worth trying. Not remotely convinced it’ll work but the alternatives aren’t attractive.

  38. Six points clear of 5th place. Man City will probably spank West Ham, Man Utd probably edging Chelsea or a draw, either way not bad. Arsenal are absolutely nowhere. Someone tell me why this is a must win game? Is it a game that'll offer a greater buffer to 5th place?, absolutely. A must win though? c'mon. Any team aspiring to finish top four will have to win the majority of their games, naturally, but we've proven over the majority of a season, even with injuries, we can compete, and we'll continue to do so whatever the result here. Keep the faith, no need for such hyperbole of

Don't we all love to laugh at them? Of course they're going to take the p1ss, that's their job. Who gives a flying Fvck? Take it on the chin and stop whining about it, you'll only encourage more.

  43. So you think Albrighton had a better game than Under? Choudhury? Soyuncu? Under at the minute loses 1 point in everybody's ratings, simply for being the current scapegoat. He attempted to make more happen yesterday than half the squad, as well as doing some better work tracking back at times.
