  3. After 8 games, Leicester City sit top of the league! An incredible achievement given our end of season collapse last tine round and the general pessimism it brought out in many fans (myself included!) on the forums. And whilst there are many factors in this turnaround, one of the most obvious ones is the use of a new system from Brendan Rodgers, a 343 system. Here are two examples of lineups using the system, on the left the game against Wolves, and on the right against Braga: The hallmarks of this system are: Three centre backs. Two wingbacks that provi

  4. Not a Leicester fan (Wycombe), but a thought occurred to me when I read some Man City article bleating on about them being the "outsiders". The anti-establishment club in the PL is actually Leicester City. Not in the way of being contrarian and thumbing your noses at other clubs at any opportunity, but because of what you symbolize to the "big six"...the possibility of someone else winning it all. I read something (I think on here?) where an exec from one of the big clubs supposedly said something along the lines of "the last thing we need is another Leicester". Then you have Leicester being t

  6. On Sunday 27th September, Leicester City travelled to the Etihad to play Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, a manager Rodgers had never beaten in his management tenure thus far. Both teams went into the game with several injuries, but I think it’s safe to say that no one saw the eye-opening result of 5-2 to the Foxes taking place. So how did Rodgers best one of the best coaches in world football so convincingly? I’m going to try and break that down for FoxesTalk today. Introduction To start things off, let’s take a look back at the last 3 fixtures between the two clubs.

  7. A golden era, for sure. A record-breaking Championship-winning season. A monumental Great Escape in our first season back in the Premier League for 10 years. A Premier League title. Reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Finishing 5th in the league. Playing in the Europa League. On set for a strong finish in the league this season. Reaching the FA Cup semi-final for the first time in a lot of our lifetimes. World class players - instead of just one or two in the squad, we have pure quality all around the squad. One of the b

  8. Couldn't find anything about this on the forum. Thought i'd let everyone know about some really interesting things said in an interview Leo did with a Spanish YouTube channel focussed on English Football - 'La media Inglesa'. He said some great things about the great escape year and the title season. I love the channel itself because I keep my Spanish sharp whilst listening to discussion of a a topic I love, English Football, so if you're learning or have learnt, i'd recommend subscribing. Anyway, this will be paraphrased as I took notes on things that would be great to share whilst wat

  9. Creating a much-needed 'calm down' thread. Feel free to come and hang out here whenever the meltdowns get too much. We're out of the Europa League, a competition that offers a CL spot for the winner and absolutely nothing for second place. No glory. No riches. Just miles of travel and a bunch of tough midweek fixtures against some established European stalwarts. We are stretched to the brink with injuries, and people are demanding too much from a thin squad. Calm down. This has been an unusually tough season physically and mentally f

  11. Amongst all the doom and gloom and transfer hype I've just read that Lloyd Dyer is retiring. Obviously we've gone up a few levels since he left but he played a massive part in getting us from League One to the Premier League. Still sad he didn't sign on for a year in the PL, he deserved it but obviously wanted more. Probably not worth a new thread but I just bloody loved Lloyd and I'm pretty sure he loved us.

  14. I'll be honest, I'm pretty glad it's over. I didn't quite realise how much this season has taken its toll on me until this past week. I think its life in general that is the aggravating factor over the last year or so and football has been a colossal focus point for many where there's been very little else to keep people's sanity. But what an emotionally draining and at times lonely and isolated season. I'm so proud of this club for putting last seasons capitulation behind them and with only 3 weeks off season come back and hit the ground running. We have ended the season with the

  16. Our fans don't help our own players at times, never right to boo our own player until after full time if the result isn't right. Nacho is clearly affected by negative energy and it's no wonder he's been sensational when the fans haven't been allowed back in.

  20. Take everything else out of the equation, that’s an incredible achievement. We spent less than 9 other teams this summer. Only one of those teams is currently ahead of us. We’ve not had our first choice 11 available ONCE this season. Let’s just hope we’ve added some bottle this time round!

  21. I'm never one to panic and talk about sacking managers maybe because I've seen it get worse so often but when it looks like you're manager has no faith in the team to beat a bottom 3 team despite outplaying them for 45 mins it makes me lose faith in that manager. I'm still a long way from wanting him out but he's plummeted in my estimation of him. If the team are lacking bottle then for me this is a big reflection of the signals coming from the manager.

  23. I'm not sure how much anyone wants a progress report on Josh Knight's loan spell with us (Wycombe), but he is an absolute Ferrari at this level. We had a rough start adjusting to the jump up between L1 and the Championship (7 straight losses to open, though with horrific refereeing decisions taking points off the board four games in a row at one point), but have found our feet a little more with Josh in the side - in the last five, we have won two, drawn two, and lost one. Obviously we are still going to struggle against relegation all season, but Josh is an absolute standout performer, week i

  24. It's official: OHL has just been promoted to the Belgian 1st division!!! After numerous of court orders and complaint, the League had no other option as to promote both us and Beerschot. Waasland-Beveren is staying up as well. This whole situation could've been avoided if the League used common sense! We finally can start signing new players!

  26. The amount of abuse some Leicester fans are giving him on Twitter is truly shocking and massively out of order. If anyone from here is one of them they seriously need to take a look in the mirror at themselves. Imagine having an average day at work and you put a tweet out to be hit with 100's of abusive messages! At the end of the day they are all human and imagine it hits them quite hard.

  27. I've done similar analytical threads like this in the past - namely the great escape season and during the title win. So I thought I'd so something for the run in and top 4 chances. I'll try and update after every Leicester game. I've looked at every top flight season that contained 20 teams and awarded 3 points for a win (the 88/89 to 90/91 seasons and the 95/96 season to present). The averages points for finishing 7th to 3rd are: 57, 61, 64, 68, 73 respectively. This explains the figures at the top of each chart. The charts are the same data, but effect

  29. Congrats to you all. I'm a huge Oldham fan with a massive soft spot for Leicester. Don't take this the wrong way but I see your club as a benchmark for 'less fashionable' clubs like mine. Winning the Premier league was an unbelievable achievement but to sustain it and win the FA cup is just fantastic. I hope you continue to live the dream for a long time to come. Congrats again and enjoy every moment!

I had to witness Europe and pretend I was happy with clients who were Forest fans in the box. I always said my team is LCFC despite laughs and piss takes. Fast forward to now I had left that company and started my own 35 years ago but my old boss and I still kept on touch. Yesterday he sent me this email. ’ Wow just wow what an incredible football team you have, you must be so proud , you played Man Utd off the park and your team is

  37. I think as the dust settles on a successful yet disappointing season I think it’s worth acknowledging this mans contribution. He’s not had an easy ride with us, he arrived with such high expectation and never really got the run of games needed and when he has played it was often in a role he wasn’t used to. After things going terribly and fans getting on his back it would have been reasonable for him to seek a move elsewhere. But he stayed professional when others simply wouldn’t, he got his head down and worked his socks off to improve behind the scenes.

  38. An Open Letter From Andy King To my LCFC family, Today it’s been announced that I’ll be leaving the Club and writing this was never going to be easy, even though I know it’s been coming for a while now. After all, all good things come to an end, but what a journey it’s been and I feel nothing but pride and happiness writing this statement. I came as a 16 year old boy in 2005 chasing a dream of playing one game of professional football for Leicester City. I leave a Premier League champion, having played 378 times. I’ve given you my all every time I stepped on the pitch and, in tu

Cards on table, I am a Reading fan. today is the 15th anniversary of us getting promoted to the Premier League for the first time. 2000 of us were lucky enough to be at Leicester to witness that historic moment. a few of us having been chatting about it and an abiding memory we share is just how brilliant the Leicester fans were to us that day. I’m not sure we ever came back and said thanks, so here I am. you applauded the team at the end of the game, you applauded them when the result that confirmed promotion (the score at Leeds) was announced and you were generally a class bun
