FYI those interested:
We have made enquiries as to whether we can have an area directly behind the goal for the Birmingham City Youth Cup game.
We'll keep you updated with any progress but irrespective it would be great to get a number down to support the lads; it's a great opportunity for us to reach the Semi-Final.
Cheers,
Union FS

Will we have that drum next week?
We will, and for the foreseeable future. Many thanks to the club for giving us a chance with the drum. Nice to see plenty of positive comments as we have to agree that it certainly added something against Newcastle.
As Katy says it's vital we all contribute to creating a great atmosphere at the next three home games as quite frankly they will make or break our season.
Thanks for all your support. We will be in the Swan and Rushes from around 12 noon on Saturday for those who would like to join us - we are a welcoming bunch.

Agreed. And the kops amazing I suppose?
Whilst we don't want to stifle anyone's opinion, please could we leave it there? As 'debates' go this is about as fruitless as it gets.
Thanks lads.

Newcastle (H) - FA Cup
This is a chance for those frustrated at the atmosphere to see what can be done about it by joining us in SK1.
Space in the block was limited at the start of the season, mainly down to the mad rush for season tickets but exacerbated by the failure of the online shop to operate successfully.
Union FS hope that this FA Cup game presents us with the chance to get a bigger group together and show what the block can do given the chance. We expect that Blocks L and N will be closed with Newcastle likely to be given the full 4,800ish allocation and as such, season ticket holders in these blocks will be required to relocate.
If you are located in either of these blocks (or elsewhere, or cannot get to league games), and you plan on attending the game to give everything in support of the lads in the best Cup competition in the world, please try to join us in SK1 (in the area of rows HH to PP, seats 15-45).
We will release further information in due course - when ticket details are announced - but please let us know if you would like to join us by commenting below or by e-mailing us at filbospirit@gmail.com
Thank you

Well written as usual though there's a factual error at the start about being beaten by the odd goal. Swansea, Palace & Southampton all beat us 2-0
Cheers Dan. Apologies, that's a shocker. Appears a run like this damages the memory... Probably a good thing.

Recently, a representative of Union FS attended the Fans Consultative Committee (FCC) meeting with Club officials at Filbert Way. Follow the link to find out what was discussed on the night.
It should be pointed out that this record is unofficial and was drafted from notes made by our representative on the night so there may be slight inaccuracies. If you were present on the night and notice anything missing, please contact us at filbospirit@gmail.com to let us know so we can edit/update accordingly. You can find our minutes from the meeting here -

As some of you will know, we had a representative on the FCC this week. Will get our full ('unofficial') minutes published as soon as possible.

Ahead of the FCC meeting this Wednesday, have any of you got any specific issues you'd like us to raise?
Anything you think of, just comment in the thread or drop us an email at filbospirit@gmail.com

Preview for the Stoke game here. Some would say bitter but that's football - you can't respect everyone.
Plenty of us will be at the Terrace Bar on Leek Road from 11am onwards. Hoping for a similar atmosphere to last season's cup game there - will be good to meet some new faces.

On the back of the ticket exchange thread, we think it would be useful for us to have a stickied thread where we can record positive feedback for those that have delivered on exchanging tickets via this forum. The idea is that posters quote the comment above and add the name of the poster that they have dealt with, where they have had a positive experience of either buying or selling. The most recent post is therefore the complete list so that people can avoid having to scroll all the way through the thread. Eventually we hope to have a sizeable database of posters where people feel confident that they will not be let down on a deal.
Positive feedback – buyers
Who has paid on time, showed up at an agreed handover etc. For example:
- Webbo [recommended by: Babylon]
Positive feedback – sellers
Who has come up with the goods, sold for face value etc. For example:
- Babylon [recommended by: Webbo, DavieG]
So we can deduce from the above that DavieG is perhaps not the chap you want to be selling your tickets to…
Would anyone like to volunteer some positive recommendations to kick us off? Once you have completed a deal, please do not forget to add them to the list (if all went well, of course!) Could a mod also please sticky?
Thank you,
Union FS

Posted in the atmosphere thread too but.... Thanks to everyone at the game on Saturday. Your support undoubtedly made a difference to the lads in winning that point.
Our thoughts are summed up here if you have a spare two or three minutes to read.
Please also let us know if you have any comments or ideas on how we can get it even better for the next game.
It's good to be back!
As for Shrewsbury, we'd suggest A1 (if it is open) as a base. Not sure how many members will be there at this stage but for those that are attending, we'll set up towards the back (behind the scoreboard).

So are we confirming it's the Swan & Rushes then?
Yep definitely S&R. 12 noon onwards. Looking to finish our drinks and get moving to the ground at 2pm so we are in early.
Looking forward to meeting some new faces!
Stickers still on sale for those who are interested....

Provisional route will be to head down Jarrom Street, past the Sir Robert Peel pub, take a left at Grasmere Street, crossing Walnut Street onto Burnmoor Street all the way to the stadium.
Just to re-iterate once again, all are welcome and we hope that this will become part of every matchday.
-
Just to confirm, there will be no official meeting before the Werder Bremen game because there are several absentees. Having said that, the time has come to outline our plans for the opening day:
Everton (H) - Saturday 16 August
Union FS are intending to walk, together as a group, to Filbert Way, departing the Swan & Rushes at 2pm and hoping to be in the ground by 2.30pm.
As will be the case in our SK1 section, singing will be compulsory throughout the walk so we will be meeting from 12 noon at the S&R to warm up the vocal chords.
All members and non-members are welcome to join us in the pub and on the walk to the ground, so if drinking pre-match isn't your thing - see you at 2pm; if it is, when's your round?
We are incredibly excited to see what we can create as a group this season - be it fantastic atmospheres or new friendships - we'll give it everything, every game.
As an aside, stickers are still on sale at £3 for a pack of 50. These will be available before kick-off and at half-time in the stadium.
See you on the 16th.

Just a quick reminder that we are hosting our next meeting at 3pm this Saturday (12 July) at The Old Horse on London Road. Many thanks once again to the landlady for accommodating us.
The invitation is open to all City fans interested (members and non-members) in joining us for a few beers and a chat ahead of what will hopefully be a great season on and off the pitch for us! We're interested in hearing ideas from anyone who wants to improve the atmosphere (whether you're getting involved in SK1 or not), so please come down if you can make it.
So that we can keep a handle on the numbers, please e-mail filbospirit@gmail.com if you would like to attend.
Thank you,
Union FS

Just a quick note to say the deadline for completing the Club's Supporter Survey for 2013/14 is midnight tonight.
Anyone wanting to have their say should follow the link and fill it in. Only takes five minutes.

For anyone who missed it, the Sports Grounds Safety Authority (SGSA) released the following statement in response to the Welsh Conservatives' call for a Safe Standing pilot scheme in Wales.
In light of the position taken by the SGSA, we at Union FS have contacted them directly with our own thoughts. You can read our open letter to the SGSA here
