For some reason Olly only could get on a month loan deal... soon after he returned to the Sheffield United where he was having an awful time under Kevin Blackwell he went on loan till the end of the season with Blackpool.

He was with us til the end of the season but got injured away to Barnsley and missed the rest of the season.

    Blackpool was the next season.

Yes, scored a goal away at Blackburn in a 4-2 win last game 97/98. Campbell became a bit more involved a season later.

Always liked Wilson, scored 3 or 4 Premier League goals for us and thought he was gonna kick on but O'Neill obviously didn't see it that way. Inclined to trust him to be honest 😀

Saw Jason Wilcox in the press room at Stoke before a game once.

Ah yes, it's the former Blackburn and England midfielder.

    ...few minutes later...

Wait, hang on, did he play for us in the 'Forgettable Years' ??

    Bloody hell he did !!!!

Reminded me of Scot Gemmill from the same period. Have to check whether they actually played for us as they were so non descript.

  4. Couple of loan players I got really excited about when they signed (I was young) and not many people remember or have heard of them.

Sascha Lenhart - came on as a sub against Scarborough after Jamie Lawrence knocked himself out scoring a diving header.

And Kevin Harper, he only played about 2 or 3 games for us and I really liked the look of him but no one ever remembers him.

I also had unnecessary levels of excitement when we signed Fernando Pasquinelli but he never made an appearance 😢

  5. We've had this before and I'm sure I have the same answer.

League One is the season I probably went to most matches. Went to every home and most away.

David Martin played 30 matches in goal for us that season and I don't remember a single second of him. When he made his brief cameo for West Ham last year I was aware of him being with us but in my head he had been on the bench.

I remember Paul Henderson, David Stockdale, Tony Warner, Mark Bunn who all played significantly fewer games in goal for us that season.  I even remember the sub appearance from Carl Pentney (ironically coming on for Martin I've just read) but Martin has been completely erased.

  6. Ancient Egypt. I love history, in fact it was my favourite subject at school and I took it for A-Level but this topic bores me to tears and I just can't get to grips with it.

My son is learning about with his homeschooling at the minute and I'm having to sit through countless videos with him for his work and it's just tedious.

  7. Was there at Stoke away for our first win back in the Premier League, lovely finish from Ulloa to give us that win with the assist from Konchesky.

That was the first time I really felt we belonged back in the league, not to mention a great cameo from Cambiasso coming on at half time for his debut.

The West Ham equaliser is the memory that sticks out most from that season bizarrely when you consider it was just to earn a point. The most nervous I have ever been.

The running fox really should make a comeback, especially with the kind of style we've moved to on the pitch.

I agree I loved that badge. In my lockdown boredom I ordered Barrie Pierpoint's book. He touches on it almost immediately saying that one of his first ideas was to get rid of that badge as it wasn't strong or imposing enough and gave the impression the fox was running away and he wanted something tougher.

Used to enjoy the Go Compare advert with the tenor singing the brand and some of his performances relating to car insurance (for example, when he had a 'crash' and he appeared under the rubble).

However, his latest advert appearance (where there's a clip of him singing a song, one that Bocelli sang at The King Power Stadium, at some outdoor concert) makes me feel the adverts now seem to be spreading the awareness of him singing than the actual brand being advertised.

The fact that you ever enjoyed one of them adverts is baffling. The bloke's a c**t in either guise.

I think it's awesome that he was the player that gout our first ever Champions League goal, he deserves a place in our history books!

Not to mention the winner against Sevilla to take us to the Quarter Finals.

    Bloody love Marc.

Leicester City lifted the Premier League trophy in May 2016. Trump won the presidency just a few months later. Coincidence? I think not. Clearly we are living in an alternate timeline of a much more reasonable universe.

Brexit a few weeks after too.

We've turned the whole world to shit!
