Important to always remember that when you can find something to get you out of that dark place, that things all of a sudden don't seem so bad.

Pornhub works wonders! Glad you are having a better day!

Been back to the doctors today, and he's prescribed me more anti depressants and signed me off work again. I really am struggling to see how things are going to get better at the moment, which is strange because until very recently I actually thought I was doing OK... I swing from thinking everything is against me, to feeling like I should be grateful for what I have, to feeling pretty much nothing at all.

Sorry to hear you're struggling Deb :(

I just typed up and deleted a long reply all about the relationship between our thinking and our feeling but deleted it because it's just regurgitating the same shit I've been banging on about on this thread for years

I hope the pills do the job and the rest from work helps a bit. Hang in there...

Let the meds do their work!Don't know what the doc has prescribed. But when I first went on them they were shit for a couple of weeks. You have to find out what works for you.I was lucky and Sertoline did it for me first time, now i'm at the stage if i miss a pill in the morning i have it the next day, feel a bit more anxious without them for one day but not the state i was in before!Keep on going Deb,thing's will get a lot better!

Very long and exhausting day in town today, attending a workshop designed to help get people into the industry, tailored to the sort of thing that I really want to do (video editing). Met loads of lovely people in the same boat, as well as some great folks who provided some useful guidance and very much needed enthusiasm.

Feeling kinda confident despite being knackered though. SO glad I went today.

Here's to a better future!

(stay off the rum)

Hoping everyone is doing ok.

Not bad fella, hope you’re doing well atm.

I’m surprised no one had mentioned SAD yet this year. I do struggle with the dark mornings and evenings and lack of sun.

When it gets to November time I start counting down the weeks until April/May. I really don’t like winter and would defo live abroad for six months of the year if I could.

How many points would you sacrifice for 6 months away?

SAD has hit me like a ton of bricks already this year. The particularly bad weather this year really isn't helping, I'm a relatively outdoorsy person but there's been little chance to get outdoors for me, cooped up in an office 12 hours a day doesn't help and when I'm not its pissing it down with rain. The international break weekend I did nothing but sleep and felt properly awful for a week after. But when I saw the forecast last week for sun in the last few days I asked for a couple of days off, was granted them and it's been great to get out into the Chilterns for a bit. Makes the world of difference.

I do the counting down and it makes it worse but can't help it, though I use the middle of March as my target. Hope it doesn't get to you too much.

This is why I one day hope to be officially banished from Europe.

Preferably to Cape Town.

So sorry for your loss Paul. Don't feel ashamed about it being a weight off your shoulders. It's an upsetting but wonderful experience being involved with your loved ones as they leave us. Horribly upsetting, yes, but there's something beautiful about it. That your dad got to see her too is so lovely. Most of us have been there, so don't worry about feeling so bad

The Chilterns is now my manor mate - lovely part of the country.

Give me a shout next time you're here and we can go for a walkie talkie

My volatility annoys me sometimes. Anxiety has been going haywire this week with depression lurking around too, leading me to drink a bit more than is healthy. I feel fine now, as I have for the last couple of days, and am having a nice chilled out slow drink to myself before resting for the night. But looking at my meds dispenser I've missed about 4 days of meds this week. I've been very good at keeping up with it in the last 6 months, especially these new ones. It just annoys me how I don't realise until the week is over that I've skipped a few days.

Anyway, hope everyone is well.

All good down here... well apart from the "mega" fires destroying the eastern side of the country and the upcoming 4 days of 40+ degrees lol (serves me right for living on the edge of a desert )

The "news" is telling us its like smoking a pack a cigs a day just walking around... I do find the concept of people out jogging and exercising (for their health?) while you can barely see 20 metres infront of you :)

On the other hand... some ducklings and moor hen babies have now started making their way around the river on my ride to work ...awwwwwwwwwwwww
