Is there some sort of secret SJW body that now goes around checking all the social media accounts of anyone who gets a job in the media?

Yeah, it's a bit much. He's apologised pretty profusely and it seems clear enough he doesn't think the same kind of stuff now, that should be the end of it, really.

It should, but absolutely no chance of that in 2018.

Its a joke with these softies we have nowadays.  Get offended at everything even if a person has apologized.

And yet trump sits in the white house of all places

Reading the George Bush obituary just now and it really struck me how much bullshit the media give us.

Hillary Clinton was of course "the most qualified and experienced person ever to run for President as she had been senator and secretary of state" - when George Bush stood in 1992 his experience was actually being President for four years, Vice-President for eight years, director of the CIA, US envoy to China, US ambassador to the United Nations and a Congressman. Before that a successful businessman and fighter pilot in WW2.

How do people fall for this stuff?

Enjoy the big house, mon ami - may more of your neofascist friends follow you there in due course.

Still waiting for the crescendo here but perhaps it is building up...

I feel that it's just a matter of time. What goes around etc.

A whole bunch of Puritan zealotry here, but two statements stand out.

"The rallying cry of the pro-family groups trying to repeal the law was the well-known “bathroom safety” argument – that in addition to transgenders, this law allows male sexual predators to lurk in women’s restrooms to prey on girls and women. This was technically true, but was largely contrived."

"Our side concocted the “bathroom safety” male predator argument as a way to avoid an uncomfortable battle over LGBT ideology, and still fire up people’s emotions. It worked in Houston a few years ago. But the LGBT lobby has now figured out how to beat it."

So...it turns out the arguments about safety used by the "pro-family" lobby were contrived, erroneous BS and they knew it.

(Of course, the arguments that this article supports wouldn't have got them even as far as they did.)

Good to see that despite this administration engaging in the most wilful and dangerous ignorance and denial that there are others with influence in the US willing to head into the future, not the past.

(However, yes, low-emission fission power - followed by fusion in due course - isn't a bad idea.)

“If you google the word idiot a picture of Donald Trump comes up”:

If it didn’t before it certainly does now because there are multiple stories running that headline. Either a fundamental lack of understanding of search engine algorithms or a genius bit of trolling.

I'm actually inclined towards the latter - it does sound like something that someone has taken the time to construct knowing it would work.

I think you're confusing him with someone else, though he was given some credit for information given to Mueller.

His lawyer hints there is a lot more to come out:

'Lanny Davis, who says he is now an adviser to Cohen after today's sentencing, says on ABC, "Michael Cohen is now released to tell the full truth. After Mr. Mueller makes his findings and issues his report, you will see more of Michael Cohen telling the truth about Donald Trump." '
