Have to agree (sadly) with that. Sure that Leicester fans away from the big groups can (as always) blend in and enjoy the occasion fine. But the herd tendency takes over with fans when they meet up in a crowded centre. Would have been better if fans had boycotted the Plaza Mayor - plenty of other places to chill out and enjoy the atmosphere.

It's not the same. All the Leicester fans were fine, drinking and singing in the plaza major. The police ruined that for attacking everyone for a few people's mistake.

The video to me shows exactly that, you can hear British voices telling everyone to calm down, its a shame but hopefully it doesnt get blown out of proportion.

you've already said one threw beer at the police so that's not true...

anyway, the few ruin it for the rest.

but don't blame police for the way they react when people throw beer or anything at them.

Especially when all fans know that foreign police can be heavy handed.  It's just naivety, ignorant, drunken behaviour by some.

Of course I suppose we should acknowledge on balance that of the thousands of City fans out there, it is only a few complete dickheads who will ruin it with their twattish behaviour. Lets hope a few thrashings from a Spanish policemans' baton hit the spot!

Yeah but hit the spot on anyone near them. People who were innocent were walking away after being smashed by the police. They should Have targeted those throwing the beer rather than everyone and anyone

And let's be honest, why isn't there a guy stopping this behaviour anyway? They wouldn't be doing that if they couldn't get away with it.

What a horrible excuse.

Just glad our fans weren't in Dortmund tonight, given their policeforce clearly has a lot more to worry about tonight/tomorrow.

If our fans could think a little and maybe acknowledge the police are primarily their to protect them?

My experience of this kind of thing is that if you aren't too pissed you can see trouble coming and avoid being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

if you are completely smashed tomorrow then you have a decent chance of being clobbered at some point .

The police do not just go around hitting people for no reason

They do, many of them. An amazing level of naivety this.

The Spanish are about the worst in Europe for it.

Not completely true but my point is that if you have a few wits left about you then you can generally avoid the batons. If you have drunk too much then you are sadly considered fair game by the police out there. in the stadium that's not so true as more difficult to get out of the way.

Easy to say while Sitting at home. I saw a LCFC fan walking away with both hand up surrendering but still got attacked by 4 police. They hit anyone with the area of the incident whether they we involved or not
