Why? What exactly has Ashley done wrong as a football club owner ?

Renamed the stadium.

Brought in the London Mafia featuring Denis Wise

Gave a manager a 10 year contract and then terminated that contract later

In the early years passed on funding the team leading to them being relegated multiple times

Royally pissed off the NUFC fans.

These days he seems much better, persuading Rafa to come on board and backing him as best as he can, but speak to any Newcastle fan. They still dislike him and wished he sold up and left.

He said he was very naive at the start (like most owners) and was very involved so made a lot of key decisions regarding transfers, staff etc. Whereas he should've let the manager do more. Also he wanted to build the club structure up and make the academy great but didn't realise how hard it would be and whilst he devoted lots of time to the structure etc he didn't spend as much time on helping the club improve on the pitch as he should have. Don't think he's a bad owner now as he's learnt but at the start he was making some bad decisions.

Is that you Mike? Why are you on a Leicester forum?

Ashley's interview on Sky was good and the poster was quoting it.

Our owners renamed the stadium

The length of a contract is irrelevant, are you saying managers should only be given shorter contracts? (By the way, it wasn't a 10 year contract, IIRC, it was 6)

Didnt fund the team?

Season 1: £26 million

Season 2: £2.75 million

Season 3: £12 million

Season 4: £21.85 million

Season 5: £26.65 million

Season 6: £350k

Season 7: £35.9 million

Season 8: £81.6 million

Season 9: £57 million

Hardly been tight has he?

Royally pissed off the Newcastle fans? Why , because he's not Kevin Keegan or Alan Shearer? Because they're self entitled moaning bastards who think they have a Devine right to win?

Bloke has done nothing wrong in my opinion. The media hate him because he's an outspoken cockney who's made something of his life. He doesn't fit the norm.

Fair play to him in my eyes.

Only problem with MA is that he treated his employees like rubbish and expected to get away with it.

He could be this ignorant towards the squad, in terms of not keeping tabs on them or the club's youth team development etc.

His involvement in Rangers also seems a bit iffy imo.

What a load of crap. There's Wyscout now which enables anyone (if you pay the fee) to watch literally any top flight in Europe plus most of the second tiers.

We are massive! lol

Swansea all day long, my hatred for Man Utd seems to be getting stronger.

Yeah, but I do not want Man Utd to be pissed off when we are facing them and I kind of want some teams to drift towards the bottom fast, so we hopefully can stay out of the relegation battle quickly.

If he gets another yellow today which will be a red, does that mean he is suspended for next game?

Yes. Unless the second yellow was somehow unjustifed and MU appeal.

They're walking on dangerously thin ice, though. They may have the support of clubs across the globe, but I'm sure the official broadcasters aren't too happy with their material being used without a license.
