Does Vince have much of a  reputation against short fast bowling? My memories of his last spell for England are getting in looking unruffled get to 20-30 then get out driving at one he should have left alone.

I don't think he's anywhere near good enough for test cricket and the Aussies will have worked him out already . I hope I'm wrong but he looks another walking wicket

I expect the next few Ashes series to be very one-sided home team affairs. I'd be surprised if we don't lose this 5-0, we've gone in without one of our key players and not knowing who our best 2,4,5 and 11 are, poor really.

He kept getting out wafting to balls outside off from what I remember, he's a great player of spin which isn't much help here.

What worries me is Malan, Ali, Woakes and Broad are all dire against the short ball, which puts huge pressure on the the other four specialist batsman - one if whom is Vince is not good enough at this level.

****ing BT man.

Christ sake.

I know. It's bloody annoying. We were better off when Sky had everything - at least you paid your money and took your pick. Now you need two subscriptions!

Looks like TMS for me!

Looks like Clarke and the MCC establishment got a better offer than what Murdoch promised, then. Can't say I'm too cut up about that, even though the Sky coverage is damn good.

Being in the US there's precious few options for me to watch this one anyhow...think I'll just listen through TMS (if I can get it here) or Guerrilla Cricket.

Regarding the first Test itself, I agree with the general sentiment here - offer me a draw now and I'd snap your hand off.

I'm not sure how much this has been discussed as i've not really read the thread, I assume it has/is being discussed as I see people talking about Sky, BT, Murdoch and subscriptions, but anyway, I find it a disgrace that the Ashes highlights aren't on terrestrial TV, I've read you can watch highlights on the BT website but thats shit.

People slag Sky off but atleast when Sky had it highlights were on Channel 5.

Things like this should have to be on terrestrial to me, I'm sure it made to be in Australia.

I'm not a massive Cricket fan but I do love the Ashes, this series I doubt i'll be that interested as I doubt i'll see hardly any of it.

I'm sure they keep telling us Cricket is a dying sport, an unpopular sport, the fanbase needs to be wider, so why limit the audience and fanbase even more than it already is/was?!

Sitting round my computer/laptop watching a shitty website...Fuck that.

It's tragic they have lost this for the amount of money we pay. Really annoying, I just hope BT have made the effort, I don' expect things like The Zone and The Verdict etc but make sure the pundits and commentary are half decent. Alison Mitchell being listed as one isn't a good start.

Sky were very professional, it's a very hard act to follow. For all the criticism Sky receive, their coverage of cricket has been incredible.
