Didn't we learn after the Hernandez fiasco. Club looking like an absolute joke.

Ridiculous, this guy is in a completely different bracket to Hernandez. There are no similarities what so ever. The transfer situation is completely differen, also.

Except he makes sick note Anderton look like a regular starter.

You mean the guy we signed for free and then sold for around £2 million after a few months? How on earth does that make the club look like an "absolute joke"?

Because we didn't pay the £20m for Michael Keane and went for the cheap option. If he was any good we wouldn't have sold him 6 months later.

Seems like the perfect partner for Nampy Mendy.

Mendy is not injury prone. He played every game possible for Nice and Monaco. He had a problem with his foot which he has now had an operation on. Caceres has had 10 years of niggles & injuries.

£20 million for a player who played the previous season in the championship is outrageous, especially for a CB. Also would've been a huge weight on the players shoulders being the clubs record signing, who knows how he'd have dealt with that. Just because he's been good for Burnley this season doesn't mean he would've been that good for us. Hernandez was a 0 risk signing, Keane would've been a huge risk signing and would've made the club look willing to massively overpay for signings. When you pay over the odds for 1 player other clubs expect you to do the same to sign their players.

The guys injury record is atrocious. But have any of you bothered to see what he's won? His trophy cabinet is bigger than ours.

Its clear that some knowledgable people in football, managers, have thought a lot of him, and he has played at the highest levels. If, if, the medical experts think he has it in the tank still, then he would be a good addition.

Good to see not everyone has written him off, thought I was alone.

people banging on about him playing at big clubs - didn't he play about 60 games in 7 years at Barca and Juve?
