1-0 loss against Beerschot in the 1st leg of the final. We're very lucky it was only 1-0, as Beerschot could've been 3-0 up at halftime. Some very bad tactical decisions by our manager! In the 2nd half we played much better and even had some chances to score an equaliser. Everything is still possible in our homegame, but it won't be easy.

The manager decided to start experimenting, as if it were a regular friendly, in the final. Unbelievable. Tactically inept and clueless. Had we been trailing 4-0 after 30 minutes, it would have been justified. But the manager wants to focus on the one good chance we had and didn't convert (ball against the post/bar ... by a defender from the other team) and how the goal was given away too easily. Basically, it's always the players at fault. He's above that obviously and never to blame. He didn't see how we were pushed back, could have conceded 4 or 5 before half time if not for excellent saves from our goalie. How we conceded 8 or so corners before half time. That had nothing to do with his decisions.

Bloody hell. I don't suppose anyone knows if there's a channel showing the second leg?

Disclaimer: I do not condone illegal streaming.

If you don't want to watch an illegal stream (which most are), then i don't think you're going to watch the game.

On the previous page somebody mentioned a website i don't even know. In Belgium our games are often streamed on a website called hesgoal. I know Unibet has a legal stream when you have an account with credits on your account, but i've noticed it doesn't work outside of Belgium. Maybe some other betting sites could legally stream the game, but i wouldn't hold my breath.

Is it illegal to watch a stream in this country of a Belgian match?

All the Leuven matches I've watched, were via the site @Lizhang mentioned (and was kind enough to recommend to me).  It's relatively clean and reliable as such things go.

However, I could not link to yesterday's match.  Hoping it works Saturday.

it's possible that 2 teams will be promoted (OHL and Beerschot) and the bottom team remains in first division. The league would have 18 teams instead of 16 then and the play-off system would be dropped. Regular competition with 34 matches.

However it's not decided yet and the possibility remains that the rematch of the promotion final has to be played behind closed doors. The Pro League have installed a work group now that will try to formulate a decision by April 15th. To be continued.

the pro league teams will vote at the end of this week to confirm that the season will be stopped. No idea if they will decide at the same time if the second leg of the promotion final will also be cancelled. They might wait until May 10th to decide which competition format will be used next season in divisions 1A and 1B as currently 7 of the 24 pro league teams (1A + 1B combined) have not received a license to play professional next season. They have appealed this decision and there has to be a ruling before May 10th. This uncertainty makes it impossible at this time for our club to negotiate transfers as we don't know in which division we will play.

Belgian clubs DELAY vote to decide whether they will cancel the season amid the coronavirus crisis despite being the FIRST league in Europe to call off campaign... and they could now complete rest of fixtures

We finally have a decision. The season is over, but OHL and Beerschot still have to play their final game to decide who wins promotion to the 1st division.

The last couple of weeks have been really hectic, with a lot of rumors going around about what would happen in Belgian football. The Belgian government decided that all sporting events are cancelled until the 1st of August. The League assembled a taskforce to work out a solution for this and the upcoming season. Their decision was stop this season and start next season with 18 teams (instead of 16) in the 1st division and give the playoff system a makeover. This would mean both OHL and Beerschot go up and Waasland-Beveren, who were in last place when the crisis started but still had an opportunity to fight of relegation would stay in the 1st division. This taskforce presented their results to the League, who completely overruled them, as they don't want 18 teams in the 1st division and they don't want to lose their play-off system

Long story short, Waasland-Beveren will drop down to the 2nd division and OHL and Beerschot still have to play the 2nd leg of the final. As I said, our government has cancelled all sporting events until the 1st of August. Furthermore, the League wants to start the new season on the 15th of August. This means we have to play in the 1st week of August and we only have 1 week to prepare for the new season, either in the 1st division or 2nd division, which is totally ridiculous. Oh by the way, 14 out of 25 of our players are out of contract on the 30th of June. But don't worry, the chairman of the League already has a solution: Go and play the final game in Germany!

I'm absolutely disgusted by our League today. Everybody already knows that the League only want to please the big teams, but this decision is a slap in the face!

Maybe we could send you Vardy, Maddison and Soyuncu on a one week loan in August :D

I agree that this seems unfair on you but surely you’d rather be given the chance to go up than have them void all you’ve worked for?

Which it sounds like were the only 2 options at this stage. It’s Waasland that have caught the raw end of the deal

True. I really sympathize with Waasland-Beveren as they don't even get a chance to fight for their spot, but at least they can start working on their squad for next season. OHL and Beerschot are still in the dark about what is going to happen. How can you start signing players if you don't know what league you're in next season?

We still have an opportunity to get promoted, but we're at a big disadvantage. Beerschot won the first leg (1-0) in their own stadium in front of their fans. We worked hard all season to get homefield advantage, but now we have to play without our fans and maybe not even in our own stadium.

The fact that they had the perfect solution (18 teams) and overruled it to please 2 or 3 big teams is just very frustrating.
