MC Prussian Posted 8 August 2017 Share Posted 8 August 2017 Buddy Rich for me. Speed, precision, timing, skill. A child prodigy at age 4. Unbelievable tekkers in today's lingo. Also managed to play through a set whilst suffering a heart attack once. But borrowed heavily from Gene Krupa. Then again, everybody did back in the day. Whom are your favourites? SouthStandUpperTier Posted 8 August 2017 Share Posted 8 August 2017 I've no idea who the best is. But I know who the worst drummer ever is - Meg White from The White Stripes.
spacemunky Posted 8 August 2017 Share Posted 8 August 2017 Pretty hard to top Buddy and Gene. That's the Mount Rushmore of drumming. First drummer I heard as a teen growing up that made me want drums was Neil Peart of Rush. Also loved Keith Moon. Great drummer and one of the best characters in Rock history. RobHawk Posted 9 August 2017 Share Posted 9 August 2017 In modern day terms, Mr Grohl has to be up there - His drumming on songs for the deaf was immense! Loved Keith Moon though - Ginger Baker and Mitch mitchell also well worthy of a mention
